Ben Willoughby, a cast member from Season 11 of Below Deck, suggested that he was considering revealing the true behind-the-scenes details of the show on social media.
Ben Willoughby disclosed that he encountered challenges during the filming of Below Deck Season 11, and has since posted cryptic messages on social media alluding to his experience.
On April 16, the Bosun held an Instagram Q&A session, and his responses were later shared on Reddit. Several of his answers portrayed the show in a negative manner and implied that viewers were not shown the full story on camera.
Ben was once asked by a fan if he would return for another season of Below Deck, to which he responded, “I used to love Below Deck.”
Upon being asked by another fan why he had previously expressed his love for the show, he responded by saying, “There are hidden aspects that are not revealed. I am currently at a point where I must decide whether to speak the truth or stop allowing this to consume me.”
Ben was asked if there was an upcoming episode that he was particularly eager for the world to see. He replied, stating that he couldn’t control the editing process, but he was confident in the values he portrayed in the upcoming episodes. He also mentioned that the production team was well aware of the challenges he faced during the season.
Despite rumors claiming that he was fired by Captain Kerry Titheradge, the Below Deck star has denied these allegations. He also expressed disappointment that certain parts of the season will not be shown on the show.
Ben additionally observed that certain crew members receive edits that either improve or worsen their true personalities.
Despite Ben’s dissatisfaction with how this season unfolded, it is hoped that he will be able to disclose more of the truth during the Season 11 reunion.
