Captain Jason Chambers was informed that Chief Stew Aesha Scott would be returning to Below Deck Mediterranean, having previously appeared on two seasons of Below Deck Down Under.
Aesha Scott gained a promotion from second stew on Below Deck Mediterranean Seasons 4 and 5 to Chief Stew and began the new spinoff Below Deck Down Under in 2022.
Despite forming a strong bond with her boss Captain Jason Chambers, she decided to leave the show after Seasons 1 and 2. However, it was recently announced that she will be making a comeback on Below Deck Med for Season 9.
During an interview with Decider, the Chief Stew acknowledged that Captain Jason did not express any jealousy upon hearing that she would be working with Captain Sandy Yawn again.
“Somehow, he got wind of it through the grapevine. He reached out to me and said, ‘I heard you went back over there.’ I apologized for not informing him beforehand and he replied, ‘No worries, I should’ve asked.’ He’s always been incredibly supportive.”
The captain responded to Aesha’s interview on Instagram, stating, “Although I was initially taken aback, I understand that with no plans for a season 3 and the constant changes in life, people may move on for their own personal reasons and needs.”
“Growth is an essential part of life, and change plays a crucial role in facilitating it. Aesha and I have experienced two wonderful seasons, and it is important to appreciate what we have and have had, rather than constantly yearning for more.”
Fans were uncertain if Aesha would still appear on Below Deck Down Under after it was announced she would be returning to Below Deck Med.
Due to the lack of an official release date for Season 3 of the Australian spinoff, it is plausible that Aesha desired to remain on the franchise until further arrangements were made.
It is evident from Aesha’s positive remarks about Captain Jason that the Below Deck stars are still on good terms.
