Below Deck’s Captain Sandy Yawn and Leah Shafer Tie the Knot in Star-Studded Ceremony

Captain Sandy and her partner Leah Shafer recently celebrated a significant milestone in their relationship, with several BD stars in attendance.

The wedding that garnered the most excitement among Below Deck fans in 2024 was undoubtedly the union of Captain Sandy Yawn and her girlfriend Leah Shafer. The only other event that came close in terms of anticipation was the wedding of former star June Foster.

The couple became engaged in 2023, and since then, the world eagerly awaited the announcement of their wedding date.

Despite not having the opportunity to do so, Chef Dave White (whom you may recall from Below Deck Med Season 7) still managed to share some behind-the-scenes footage of the occasion. In addition, the duo also posted their own pictures on social media.

On May 14, Captain Sandy shared a photo collage of the ceremony on IG to officially announce that their wedding was held on May 11 in Florida. The lavish event was, fittingly, on a luxurious yacht, in keeping with the style of the show.

“In the caption of the post, she expressed her love and gratitude to Leah Rae Yawn for taking her name and to their entire family and friends for showing their support and love for their relationship by attending the event.”

Similarly, the reality TV star confirmed that their ceremony was also captured on film, hinting at the possibility of it being included in either Season 9 or 10 of the series. The engagement has already been revealed in the ninth season’s trailer, confirming that it will be showcased in an upcoming episode.

Among the attendees at the ceremony were various BD stars from different parts of the franchise, such as Kate Chastain, Culver Bradbury, Alex Propson, and Aesha Scott.

Regarding Aesha, it has been confirmed that she has accepted a proposal from her longtime partner Scotty Dobson. It remains to be seen if their wedding will also be captured on film. Only time will reveal the answer.
