“Bench Players Acting Like Starters” – Jujutsu Kaisen Fans Roast Momo Nishiyama for Not Being Able to Fight Sukuna in Chapter 269

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 269, Yuta makes a significant return, alongside the unexpected survival of Higuruma after Sukuna’s presumed attack. The chapter centers on the main characters reflecting on their battles and considering alternative strategies.

The revival of Momo Nishimiya, a Kyoto student, adds another layer to the narrative. Momo has been a recurring character since her introduction, but her recent remarks about regretting not facing Sukuna have left fans amused, as she is viewed as one of the weaker characters in the series.

Momo Nishimiya’s Desire to Fight Sukuna Creates a Stir Among Fans

Momo Nishimiya first appeared during the Kyoto Goodwill Event arc, where she fought against Nobara. Regrettably, her cursed technique and disinterest in jujutsu limited her potential, contributing to her reputation as one of the series’ weakest characters.

Her limitations were highlighted during the Shibuya Incident arc when Mechamaru attempted to evacuate the Kyoto students due to their lack of strength. Although Momo did confront Kenjaku briefly, Uraume easily defended against her attack, showcasing her ineffectiveness.

Now, Momo’s recent statements about missing her chance to confront Sukuna raised eyebrows, with fans questioning her motivations and capabilities as one of the least battle-ready sorcerers.

Fan Responses to Momo Nishimiya’s Comments

Some fans expressed confusion regarding Momo’s dialogue, pointing out that no one anticipated her to challenge Sukuna. There are suggestions that Sukuna’s earlier defeat by Yuji may have emboldened the Kyoto students into believing they could defeat him too, while others argued that they owe their reputation to Todo’s efforts.

“😭 the disrespect to Sukuna got every Kyoto student thinking they can beat him,”one fan said.

“ik them useless weaka** kyoto bums not talking 😭😭 they should thank todo for carrying their reputation istg,”another fan wrote.

Many fans speculated about the thought process behind Gege’s writing of Nishimiya’s lines, with some humorously acknowledging how it enhanced the chapter.

“gege is actually so funny for adding this panel 😭,”one fan wrote.

“need sukuna to come back and humble them idk,”another fan said.

While fans anticipated Yuta’s return to coincide with Gojo’s, as suggested in the chapter 269 spoilers, Yuta’s re-entry was simply explained through exposition, not tied to Gojo.
