As a player in Deadlock, it is crucial to find a suitable crosshair that suits your playstyle. Below are some top choices and helpful advice to keep in mind.
After undergoing months of undercover playtesting, Valve has officially recognized Deadlock, granting the public the opportunity to discuss and catch a glimpse of the game in its initial phases.
The game offers a new perspective on the hero shooter and MOBA genres, striving to find a balance between the two. As a shooter, it also demands a certain level of proficiency in aiming mechanics, which sets it apart from the typical MOBA experience.
A crosshair is essential for this purpose. Below are some recommended crosshairs for beginners, along with important considerations when personalizing it to your preferences.
Best Deadlock crosshairs
Despite being in early access, our selection of crosshair options may not be as extensive as Valve’s other titles such as Counter-Strike 2. Nonetheless, there are still ample customization choices available for making basic alterations.
Despite being in its early access stage, the game still has a number of bugs. Before customizing, it’s important to be aware of some of the crosshair bugs.
- Making Gap zero only makes the crosshair gapless when the height is at 20
- The dot in Dot Opacity is slightly misaligned
- Depending on settings, Pip Opacity can make your crosshair completely black
Naturally, these initial glitches are expected and will likely be resolved in the near future. We will keep you informed of any updates here. In the meantime, if you are creating your own crosshair, it is important to be aware of these problems.
Now that we have addressed that, here are some crosshairs to get you started:
Basic Crosshair
- Gap: 0
- Width: 0
- Height: 10
- Pip Opacity: 1.00
- Show Pip Border: Off
- Dot Opacity: 0
- Dot Outline Opacity: 0
- Red: 255
- Green: 255
- Blue: 255
This crosshair is extremely basic, consisting of a simple white design that will suit the needs of nearly anyone.
Despite setting the gap to 0, you may still observe a gap in Deadlock’s crosshair. This is due to the bugs that we previously mentioned.
Ideally, the gap would not exist and it would be a straightforward cross. Once the problem is resolved, it should be without any gaps.
Basic cross with dot
- Gap: 3
- Width: 0
- Height: 15
- Pip Opacity: 1.00
- Show Pip Border: Off
- Dot Opacity: 1.00
- Dot Outline Opacity: 0
- Red: 255
- Green: 255
- Blue 255
This crosshair is a basic cross and dot design, very similar to the default one but with a cleaner and more transparent appearance.
Typically, this is the preferred crosshair for many players as it provides enough visibility to see one’s actions and includes a center dot to aid in precise targeting.
It is possible that you have noticed the misalignment of the dot, which is another bug that we hope Valve will fix soon.
Dot crosshair
- Gap: 0
- Width: 0
- Height: 0
- Pip Opacity: 0
- Show Pip Border: Off
- Dot Opacity: 1.00
- Dot Outline Opacity: 1.00
- Red: 255
- Green: 255
- Blue: 255
If you would rather have a basic dot as your crosshair, this option will suit your preference.
Despite the slight off-center placement of the colored dot from the outline, this is yet another bug that you may notice. This is not its normal centered position.
If you are someone who uses the dot crosshair, it may be necessary for you to accept the misalignment until Valve addresses the issue.
Green crosshair
- Gap: 0
- Width: 0
- Height: 10
- Pip Opacity: 1.00
- Show Pip Border: Off
- Dot Opacity: 0.65
- Dot Outline Opacity: 0
- Red: 0
- Green: 255
- Blue: 0
We use a simple crosshair that is turned green to provide better contrast against the red enemy outlines and environment.
We have adjusted the Dot Opacity to 0.65 in order to minimize any distractions caused by the dot being slightly off-center, while still allowing it to serve its purpose in helping us aim.
Purple crosshair
- Gap: 0
- Width: 2
- Height: 13
- Pip Opacity: 1.00
- Show Pip Border: Off
- Dot Opacity: 0
- Dot Outline Opacity: 0
- Red: 200
- Green: 67
- Blue: 200
This crosshair is also a simple one, but with a purple color option for those who prefer it.
This one should be of a suitable size for you to aim quickly and precisely.
We have also chosen a slightly lighter shade of purple because it suits us best, but it’s possible that your eyesight and monitor differ from ours. Therefore, feel free to adjust the colors to your personal preference.
For now, this is all the information you need to know about crosshairs in Deadlock. As the game is currently in an early playtest stage, there will likely be more crosshair options and types introduced in future patches. We will keep you informed of any updates as development on the game progresses.
