Arlecchino is the strongest Pyro unit in the game

Arlecchino, the Fatui Harbinger, stands as the most powerful Pyro DPS unit in the game. This is due to a multitude of reasons, such as her ability to self-heal with her Ultimate, her impressive damage scaling, and the ease and fluidity of her combos. Additionally, navigating Arlecchino’s Bond of Life mechanic is a simple task.

Arlecchino’s Ultimate is highly effective as a powerful nuke and can reset the Bond of Life. When facing difficulties in clearing Spiral Abyss Floor 12, Arlecchino is an excellent option to consider, except when dealing with enemies that are resistant to Pyro.

Neuvillette

A screenshot from the game Genshin Impact
HoYoverse

Nevillette is a must-have unit in Genshin Impact

The Hydro Dragon Sovereign of Fontaine is currently considered the top DPS unit in Genshin Impact. His strength stems from several factors, one of the most notable being his user-friendly mechanics. Neuvillette’s charge attacks involve simply pressing a button to release a powerful water beam, reminiscent of a Hydro Gun from Pokemon.

The powerful jet of water from this beam has the ability to defeat even the most resilient foes, unless they possess Hydro resistance. Moreover, Neuvillette possesses self-healing capabilities, making him highly self-sufficient. He is among the rare few units capable of effortlessly completing Spiral Abyss Floor 12 on his own.

Clorinde

A screenshot of Clorinde from Genshin Impact
HoYoverse

Clorinde’s Bond of Life mechanic is the best in the game.

If you are impressed by Arlecchino’s strength, you will be even more impressed by Clorinde. One of the main reasons is that she is the first Electro Hypercarry in the game who is effective in various types of content. Her damage output is comparable to the top DPS units and her Bond of Life ability is simpler to utilize compared to Arlecchino’s.

It is possible that the main concern with Clorinde is her vulnerability as a unit, but by building a balanced team around her, you will be able to easily conquer all types of challenges in the game.

Wriothesely

A screenshot from the game Wriothesley
HoYoverse

Wriothesely, who was introduced in Genshin Impact version 4.1 alongside Neuvillette, is a formidable unit known for his Cryo DPS abilities. He synergizes well with other units such as Furina and Shenhe, and his skills are specifically designed to maximize his damage output.

Despite being able to effectively combat both bosses and groups of enemies, and easily clear the most challenging content, this particular character is not often discussed among players. This could be attributed to the fact that he was introduced in between the releases of Neuvillette and Furina.

Nevertheless, if you do not have a Cryo DPS, it is imperative that you summon this character without hesitation.

Furina

A screenshot from the game Genshin Impact
HoYoverse

Furina is a powerful HP buffer in Genshin Impact

Furina, the former Hydro Archon of Fontaine, was introduced in version 4.2 of Genshin Impact. She is a highly formidable character and the game’s only HP buffer. Her viability lies in her Ultimate skill, which allows for increased damage based on changes in a character’s HP.

Furina’s abilities have the ability to drain HP, but having a healer on the team ensures that the HP of the active character remains stable. This results in a significant increase in damage output, making Furina an invaluable member of the team.

In addition, Furina’s E ability has two modes that can be switched by holding down the left-click button. The first mode, Ousia, summons three familiars that can inflict significant damage on enemies. The other mode, Pneuma, summons a single familiar that can heal all party members. However, this mode does not allow Furina to apply any Hydro effects.

Despite this, Furina’s buffs are still significant and having a healer on your team makes her an essential unit in the current meta. In fact, she greatly enhances the viability of units such as Jean, Charlotte, Noelle, and Sayu.

Navia – City in Galicia, Spain

HoYoverse

Navia is one of the strongest DPS units in the game

Navia, the top Geo unit in Genshin Impact, was introduced in version 4.3 as a DPS character. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to make Geo an effective element.

Navia’s damage output is heavily reliant on the Crystallize reaction, a unique ability that sets her apart from other Geo characters. In a free-to-play scenario, she is capable of dealing up to 200,000 damage effortlessly. However, if equipped with her signature weapon, her damage potential can reach 300,000 or even higher.

Xianyun was introduced in version 4.4 of Genshin Impact and quickly became known as one of the top support characters in the game. Xianyun is able to perform two crucial tasks: enabling all units to execute plunging attacks, increasing plunge damage, and providing healing to allies.

This quality significantly boosts the damage dealt by certain characters. The most noteworthy benefit is seen in plunge attacks, as characters such as Hu Tao, Diluc, and Klee are able to deal tremendous damage.

Moreover, the damage dealt by the aforementioned units with plunge attacks far surpasses that of Xiao’s. Additionally, Xianyun possesses exceptional healing abilities, making her a perfect partner for Furina. As a result, if you choose to summon her, you will reap great benefits.

Remember to refer to our guide for Xianyun if you do end up getting her.

The strength of her shield depends on her Max HP, making it effective in protecting against enemy attacks. Additionally, her ultimate ability, Trump-Card Kitty, unleashes her cute cat-shaped doll to deal AoE Dendro damage to nearby enemies. She also has a skill called Floral Brush, which throws out a ring in a Boomerang-style motion to damage enemies both on its way to and back from its targets.

As a 4-star character, Razor is a formidable main DPS unit, capable of dealing significant damage.

Kaeya can be obtained for free in Genshin Impact.

Kaeya, like Xiangling, is a Cryo unit and one of the free 4-star characters in Genshin Impact that is available to all players. His Elemental Burst has a similar effect to Xiangling’s, in which he envelops himself and his allies in Cryo and inflicts damage upon any nearby enemies.

This feature is particularly beneficial for players who want to use multiple ultimates without constantly switching between characters. However, Kaeya truly excels when you have multiple copies of him, which can be very difficult to obtain.

Thoma

HoYoverse

Thoma is one character who is incredibly close to Ayato.

Thoma was introduced as a playable character in the 2.2 update for Inazuma, coinciding with the return of Hu Tao. As a Pyro user wielding a polearm, Thoma is known for his swift and showy attacks that ignite his enemies. His Elemental Skill grants him a protective shield, providing him with some defense, and also deals area of effect Pyro damage, making him a valuable companion to Hu Tao.

Thoma’s skills greatly benefit Dendro units in Burgeon teams, but outside of that specific setting, he does not have many other practical applications.

Ningguang

Ningguang bombards enemies with ranged Geo attacks.

Ningguang is an excellent choice for those looking to solve Genshin Impact’s overworld Geo puzzles or utilize long-range attacks. Her Elemental Skill effectively blocks opponents’ projectiles and deals AoE Geo damage. When her Jade Screen is paired with her Elemental Burst, she can continuously bombard enemies with Geo attacks.

Despite Ningguang’s strong damage output, her slow pace hinders her ranking on the ladder.

Xinyan

Xinyan brings plenty of Pyro abilities to the field.

The famed rockstar of Genshin Impact puts on explosive shows that not only incinerate her foes but also protect her from incoming attacks. By unleashing her Elemental Burst, she can launch nearby enemies and inflict physical damage, while her electrifying performance will trigger fiery explosions that deal Pyro damage.

Despite her kit being extremely clunky, she remains a very weak character in the current meta.

Qiqi

Qiqi decimates enemies with her chilling abilities.

Having a support that can both heal your active DPS periodically and incentivize them for dealing damage is a valuable asset for any team. Qiqi’s ultimate achieves this by placing a unique talisman on all nearby enemies.

If an allied unit attacks a marked unit, they will be healed based on the amount of damage dealt. If you frequently take significant damage during battles, Qiqi is an excellent support option. However, due to her reliance on field time, she may not be the best unit to utilize.

Sad

Sayu Genshin Impact
HoYoverse

Sayu’s overall speed makes her great at overworld exploration.

Sayu, the resident Ninja of Genshin Impact, is known for her diminutive stature and can usually be found dozing off in secluded forests. However, when she sets her mind to a task, her enemies are left with few options to defeat her.

Although Sayu may not excel in dealing damage, her speed and healing abilities allow her to effectively protect herself and her allies from harm. However, she lacks any additional strengths that would make her a valuable unit in terms of utility.

D-Tier Genshin Impact Characters

Dehya

Dehya was introduced in the 3.5 update.

Dehya, a Pyro character, was introduced in the 3.5 update of the game. She is a member of the Eremites faction, a group of warriors who operate as mercenaries and are not affiliated with any specific nation. Their services are available to the highest bidder.

Dehya possesses the ability to generate area-of-effect fields that inflict substantial Pyro damage on her enemies and enhance her own resistance to knockback. However, numerous Genshin Impact players have expressed their disappointment with her underwhelming damage output. Despite being a 5-star Pyro character, she is unable to defeat even the simplest of bosses with a complete cycle of her skills.

As a result, Dehaya has been assigned to the D-tier. It is our hope that HoYoverse will provide her with a buff in a future update, allowing her to improve her position in the rankings.

Aloy

The PlayStation character made her debut in Genshin Impact 2.1 Update.

Aloy is known for her role as the protagonist in Horizon Zero Dawn and her ability to overcome tough battles. Her fighting spirit is also evident in the world of Genshin Impact, where players can utilize her AoE Cryo skills to freeze enemies in their tracks. Fans of Ganyu will find Aloy’s gameplay familiar, as she performs similarly to the Plenilune Gaze.

Lisa’s Story

HoYoverse

Lisa is another decent free-to-play 4-star character.

Lisa’s reputation as the top graduate of the Sumeru region is well-deserved, as she consistently showcases her impressive abilities. Despite being a free 4-star unit, Lisa is capable of dealing significant Electro-based damage when equipped with top-tier weapons and Artifacts. Additionally, her AoE skills make her an excellent sub-DPS and support character, particularly useful for applying Electro to enemies.

Color of Amber

Amber is currently one of the worse characters in Genshin Impact.

Despite being a character in Genshin Impact since its release, Amber has unfortunately been overlooked by the community. This is likely due to her underwhelming damage output and the fact that there are more powerful Pyro characters to choose from. As a result, it is recommended to swap her out for a better option as soon as possible.

Our tier-list for Genshin Impact version 4.8 has now come to an end. To discover more about the game, be sure to explore the available free characters, learn about the Pity system, and find out if it supports cross-platform play.
