If you’re looking to make significant progress in Mirthwood, gathering Iron is essential. This vital resource is crucial for crafting upgraded Iron tools and numerous other recipes. However, acquiring Iron can be quite the challenge due to its limited availability in the game. If you find yourself struggling to locate Iron, this comprehensive guide is here to assist you.
Optimal Locations for Mining Iron in Mirthwood
The prime location for mining Iron is in Murkwater Marsh, situated in the southwestern corner of the map, just below Brightoak and north of the Bleakwood Forest. While the Irondelve Mine, located in the Glasstip Foothills at the top left of the map, also offers some Iron, the Marsh boasts a far greater abundance of this valuable resource.
Good news! You can mine Iron using a Copper Pickaxe, which means you can start your search without needing to upgrade your gear beforehand.
For every Iron tool you wish to craft, you will require ten Iron Bars, each of which is produced from five pieces of raw Iron. This illustrates the high demand for Iron, especially since various recipes and quests also rely on this material. Therefore, locating areas rich in Iron is critical for keeping your crafting needs satisfied.
Although there are Iron deposits in the Irondelve Mine, the true treasure lies in Murkwater Marsh. Numerous Iron veins can be found scattered throughout the Marsh, particularly near the Campsite. You’ll recognize these veins by their distinct large, grey rocks laced with light blue specks.
The Campsite in the Marsh is especially abundant with Iron veins, and once you activate the fast travel point there, you can easily teleport to gather Iron from various locations across the game. Don’t forget that Iron veins respawn periodically, so make it a habit to routinely explore the Marsh to replenish your Iron stockpile.
Converting Raw Iron to Iron Bars in Mirthwood
In Mirthwood, Raw Iron Ore isn’t commonly what you’ll need; most crafting recipes call for Iron Bars instead. To produce Iron Bars, you’ll first need to construct a Furnace, which can be done using the Workbench located on your farm.
To craft a Furnace, interact with your Workbench and select the first tab. This process will require 40 Stones; once you’ve gathered the materials, hit Craft and locate the Furnace on your quick wheel or through your inventory menu.
When you’re ready, position the Furnace in a suitable area. If the placement zone is clear, the Furnace will glow green, indicating it can be placed; otherwise, it will show red, prompting you to clear obstacles from the area first.
Once your Furnace is in place, interact with it to begin crafting Iron Bars. As long as you have the necessary raw materials, you can create Iron Bars. Remember that you can only smelt two Bars at a time, so it might be wise to construct multiple Furnaces if you require a large quantity quickly!
Utilize this guide to efficiently gather and process Iron, ensuring you’re well-equipped to tackle the challenges that Mirthwood presents.
