Like all other Star Wars: Hunters characters, tanks possess a distinct set of abilities that make them valuable assets in certain modes or maps. However, there are a few exceptional characters that stand out as versatile and powerful choices in any situation.
In this list, I have ranked all the Tank characters in Star Wars: Hunters, along with their abilities and recommended usage.
Star Wars: Hunters – Tank Tier List
In Star Wars: Hunters, there are four playable Tanks. Our tier list ranks them from best to worst.

S | Sentinel, Slingshot |
B | Grozz |
C | Car |
Best Tanks in Star Wars: Hunters
The top Tanks in Star Wars: Hunters are Slingshot and Sentinel, followed closely by Grozz and Charr in the rankings.
C – Car
Charr is the weakest tank in the game right now.
Charr is a Trandoshan who wields a powerful gun and sharp claws, making him a formidable opponent for your enemies. However, he can be challenging to strategize with due to his lack of defensive capabilities, except for his Regen Booster ability which converts incoming damage into healing.
As a versatile character, he may not be as strong as others, but he remains a great choice for game modes such as Squad Brawl where racking up kills is the goal. The Laser Tether ability is particularly effective for dealing high damage as it keeps enemies within reach and allows for easier attacks.
B – Bunch
Grozz can perform well in modes where you need a lot of kills.
Like Charr, Grozz is a Wookie who shares a similar playstyle. However, Grozz possesses a greater number of specialized abilities that allow him to inflict significant damage. This does come with a drawback, as he also shares Charr’s weakness in lacking a well-rounded ability to defend himself and his team.
As he possesses greater potential for causing harm, he ranks slightly higher than Charr and is a valuable option for Squad Brawl, where the objective is to eliminate opponents. Both Stampede and Upheaval are effective in controlling and dealing heavy damage to the enemy, as they have the ability to stun and knock them down.
Grozz’s signature move, known as Boulder Bash, is incredibly powerful as it not only dominates the area he stands on but also inflicts significant damage on anyone who crosses his path.
S – Slingshot & Sentinel
Slingshot
Slingshot is a very close second for the best Tank in the game.
The Droideka Slingshot’s arsenal of abilities, controlled by the Ugnaught pilot, is ideal for safeguarding the team and hindering enemy movement.
Primarily, his skills revolve around manipulation of enemy movement and inflicting significant damage, with the added advantage of his recognizable shield in battles. Furthermore, he possesses Unstable Shield, which detonates upon breaking, causing even greater harm to nearby adversaries.
Slingshot is a versatile character that shines in all game modes, but truly shines in Trophy Case and Power Control. In these modes, the ability to stun enemies is crucial for gaining control of points. This is where Trickshot and his Ultimate, Rocket Stomp!, truly shine, as they not only slow down enemies, but also deal damage.
The Sentinel
Sentinel excels in situations where you need to control your enemies.
As the top Tank in the game, Sentinel, an Imperial Stormtrooper, possesses abilities that enable him to safeguard his team, inflict significant damage on foes, and immobilize them with his Suppressing Shot move for easier elimination.
Furthermore, Sentinel has the ability to utilize his Ultimate, known as “Empire’s Finest”, to summon two additional allies to assist the team during combat. This can shift the odds in their favor by creating a 4v6 scenario, which can prove to be extremely challenging for the opposing team to handle.
Sentinel is a versatile Tank that excels in all situations, but is particularly effective in modes such as Dynamic Control and Power Control where players can focus on area control.
It is worthwhile to try out all of the Tanks and understand their strengths in different modes while you wait to unlock your desired characters in the Hunter’s Path. In Star Wars: Hunters, your success will greatly depend on utilizing your strengths, so take the time to familiarize yourself with all of the available characters and classes.
