BG3 Cazador’s Bed Hidden Buff Can Save Your Honour Mode Run

Despite players potentially abandoning their search for vases in Baldur’s Gate 3, a hidden buff within Cazador’s palace has revealed that there are still undiscovered secrets waiting to be uncovered.

It is widely known that Baldur’s Gate 3 contains numerous small puzzles that may require multiple playthroughs to uncover. However, this concealed advantage proves to be extremely beneficial when preparing to confront Cazador in Act 3. This advantage has only been discovered by players who closely followed Larian Studios’ patch notes.

Taking on Cazador Szarr can be intimidating, particularly if you lack Scratch or a Mage Hand summon to swiftly interrupt his ritual. If you believe your characters could benefit from an additional HP boost during your Honour Mode playthrough, you can find a condition called “False Life”by searching his bed, providing you with +17 temporary points to your health.

According to Larian Studios’ patch notes, in order to obtain this buff, you must first activate it by inspecting all of the vases located in Cazador’s Dungeon (X:-1929, Y:852). One of the vases will communicate with your party and instruct you to “lie where Cazador lies”. Once completed, you can use the bed next to the skull to receive the buff.

Many readers of the Reddit forum were surprised to have overlooked this detail, and a few admitted to being intrigued when the developers mentioned it in an update for Baldur’s Gate 3. In the game, clicking on vases will typically reveal an empty inventory or even some useless items that are better off not being picked up.

Despite not checking Cazador’s vases, it has been proven that there is a valid reason for the Baldur’s Gate 3 developers to have them scattered throughout the game. A comment stated, “I always suspected there would be consequences for disregarding the potential usefulness of the vases.”

“After discovering this trick, a player joked that it had fully regressed all the progress they had made on not clicking every vase, much to their regret.”

These secrets once again highlight the vast amount of hidden content waiting to be discovered in every nook and cranny of Baldur’s Gate 3. For those interested in learning more about Larian Studios’ RPG, one can uncover the unfortunate consequences of ignoring Rolan in Act 1 and the solutions to alleviate Shadowheart’s struggles in the early stages of the game.
