BIGBANG’s 18th Debut Anniversary Celebration Causes Mixed Emotions Among VIPs After TOP’s Controversial Behavior

Despite VIPs rejoicing over receiving BIGBANG crumbs from GD, Taeyang, and Daesung, T.O.P.’s actions on their 18th debut anniversary elicited mixed reactions.

On August 19, BIGBANG, also known as the “Kings of K-pop,”commemorates their 18th anniversary since their debut in 2006 as a group under YG Entertainment.

Despite not being able to physically gather together to celebrate the special day, the trio made sure to honor it by sharing Instagram posts with their VIPs (fandom).

Beginning with G-Dragon, he uploaded the album cover for their most recent digital single, “Still Life,”which was released in April 2022. He also included the hashtag, “bigbang18thanniversary,”and shared pictures of the remaining members Taeyang and Daesung.

On Aug. 18th, VIPs were ecstatic after seeing videos of Daesung and GD celebrating the latter’s 36th birthday together, which were regrammed by Daesung himself after being tagged in the post.

Finally, despite his busy schedule caring for his newborn son and wife, Taeyang made sure to commemorate their anniversary. He shared a photo on IG of a crown emoji placed on a stack of yellow hearts, symbolizing BIGBANG and their devoted fan base, VIPs.

These kind actions were highly valued by their supporters and brought them joy, as T.O.P., a previous member of the band, gained attention for reportedly blocking fans who tagged him in posts about the remaining four members.

Despite his departure from the team, some VIPs continue to recognize and appreciate his contributions to BIGBANG by mentioning him in their posts. However, fans have observed that the former idol has blocked any posts linking him to the group.

Instead, he would only click the “like”button for those who were solely congratulating him, as Aug. 19th marks his 18th year as a K-pop idol.

From this, it can be inferred that T.O.P. no longer wishes to be linked to BIGBANG or have any involvement with the group, according to fans’ speculations.

Despite not addressing the matter, all of his recent social media posts have revolved around promoting his newly launched wine brand, T’SPOT wine.

In its original form, BIGBANG consisted of five members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, T.O.P, and Seungri.

During their peak, they became known as K-pop’s top boy group after achieving success with countless hit songs including “Lies,””Haru Haru,””Sunset Glow,””FANTASTIC BABY,”and others.

Sadly, their stance weakened when two of the individuals, T.O.P. and Seungri, faced separate controversies during their military break.

In 2017, T.O.P. admitted to using marijuana during his time as a police officer. As a consequence, he was given a 10-month prison sentence and 2 years of probation. He was also deemed unsuitable to continue serving as a police officer and instead completed his military service as a social service agent.

In 2019, Seungri announced his departure from BIGBANG and retirement from the entertainment industry following the scandal surrounding the “Burning Sun Gate.”

Despite serving a 1 year and 6 month sentence in prison on nine charges, he is currently facing new controversies due to his frequent sightings in clubs.
