As the Jujutsu Kaisen manga approaches its conclusion, fans eagerly await the plot developments that manga creator Gege Akutami will introduce in the series. In the midst of this, a fan-made crossover video featuring Jujutsu Kaisen and SpongeBob SquarePants has been making its rounds on the internet.

The unexpected crossover has come to fruition, much to the surprise of fans. The recently released video provides everything fans were hoping for, as the manga’s current plot is filled with one bloody battle after another. So, what exactly does the video entail?

Exploring the Epic Crossover: Jujutsu Kaisen x SpongeBob SquarePants

A Jujutsu Kaisen fan, @Kingcharlz1, shared a crossover animated video of Jujutsu Kaisen and SpongeBob SquarePants on YouTube on March 2, 2024. The video reenacted moments from the anime’s second season, specifically the Shibuya Incident Arc, showcasing the intense battle between Jujutsu sorcerers Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo, and Cursed Spirit Mahito.

The crossover animated video featured SpongeBob SquarePants as the protagonist Yuji Itadori and Larry the Lobster as the supporting character Aoi Todo. Bubble Bass was chosen to play the antagonist Mahito.

The video depicted SpongeBob Squarepants and Larry the Lobster teaming up to battle Mahito, much like Yuji and Todo. The video then showed the conclusion of the fight, with Bubble Bass left devastated after being defeated by SpongeBob.

Fan Reactions to the Crossover Video

The video, titled “Bikini Kaisen,”was originally uploaded to YouTube and X approximately one month ago by its original creator, @Kingcharlz1. The name of the video was inspired by both the fictional city of “Bikini Bottom”from SpongeBob SquarePants and the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen.

The fans embraced the name and it became well-known. In fact, a fan noted that the name was fitting for the video, as “kaisen”had a deeper meaning beyond just battle or conflict. It could also be associated with seafood.

“Bro im calling this Bikini kaisen,”said the original creator.

Given that the events in SpongeBob SquarePants occurred in an underwater setting, the use of the term “kaisen”was absolutely fitting.

“Why is this so tuff,”said one fan.

Some viewers were particularly drawn to the animation and fight choreography in the video. They were impressed by the quality of the animation and expressed a desire for more of it. In fact, there were even playful comments comparing the animation in the “Bikini Kaisen”video to that of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, jokingly claiming it was superior.

Despite some fans thinking that the crossover video was a cinematic masterpiece and wanting it to be longer, they were still left in awe by it.

“Absolute cinema,”said one fan.

In addition to the video itself, netizens were primarily concerned with ensuring proper credit was given to the original creator of the video.

“Credit him.. smh… his name is barley visible cuz the quality is trash. besides if the guy gets more popular you’ll have more opportunities to steal from him,”one fan wrote.

A video was posted on X by @Noodledori1, a known anime fan. However, the original creator was not credited in the post. Although the video had a watermark, it was too faint and unclear. Fans took notice and proceeded to give credit to the rightful creator in the comments, while also expressing disappointment towards @Noodledori1 for attempting to gain attention on their account by using someone else’s work.
