Billboard lauded the song, stating, “Supernova isn’t just the standout single that launched aespa’s debut studio album, Armageddon, but also the definitive K-pop anthem of the year.” The track features an impressive structure with three full choruses, vibrant verses, a mesmerizing bridge, and an exhilarating dance break, all while maintaining a robust sense of cohesion and completeness.

Notably, within South Korea, the song set a remarkable record by dominating Melon’s chart for 15 consecutive weeks, marking the longest run in history.
