Billie Eilish Receives Special Attack on Titan Illustration from Hajime Isayama

Billie Eilish is currently making the rounds on the press circuit to promote her latest album. During her visit to Japan, she received a personalized sketch from Hajime Isayama, the mind behind Attack on Titan.

Released on May 24, 2024, Hit Me Hard and Soft is the newest album from Billie Eilish. In order to promote the release, she has been touring around the world. During her visit to Japan, she received a special welcome package which featured a unique picture of the Survey Corps from Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan, with Eilish included among their members.

The hand-drawn illustration features Eren, Mikasa, and Armin standing beneath a colossal Titan, with Eilish seen holding Omni-Directional Mobility Gear. She seamlessly blends in with the group.

It’s an appropriate present, as Eilish has previously expressed her admiration for the anime series. During a performance in Austin, Texas in 2021, she was seen wearing an Attack on Titan shirt, and she has also been spotted wearing shirts featuring characters from Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, and other beloved franchises.

It is clear that the popstar is not alone in their love for the medium. Megan Thee Stallion has previously dressed up as characters from Jujutsu Kaisen, and Ariana Grande even has a tattoo based on Spirited Away. It is likely that both would envy Eilish for receiving a personalized sketch from a renowned mangaka.

In the end, this all reflects the continuous rise in the global popularity of anime. There was a time when being a fan was not considered something to boast about. Fortunately, things have changed for the better.

Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Sort world tour will commence in September 2024, featuring shows in Canada, the US, Australia, Europe, the UK, and Ireland. Make sure to pay attention for any nods to your beloved anime character if you plan on attending.
