Billlie Tsuki Addresses Malicious Comments in Agency Statement

Following the incident of receiving negative comments, Billie Tsuki’s agency, Mystic Story, has issued a statement addressing the situation.

On the date of June 17, 2024, Mystic Story, which is the agency of the group Billlie, released a post titled “Reminder on Online Etiquette”on the official fan cafe of the group.

Mystic Story announced that there has been a rise in fan misconduct on the communication platform Bubble. Despite the artists’ reluctance to report these incidents, the ongoing inappropriate conduct has forced us to address the situation in order to safeguard our artists.

The agency emphasized real messages that were sent by fans on Bubble, including phrases such as “Return to Japan and never return,””I can’t stand seeing your face, go back to Japan,””Why didn’t you acknowledge me? Why did you depart so hastily?”and “Get a hold of yourself.”

Mystic Story revealed their intention to report the individuals who sent these messages.

Despite being a member of Billie, Tsuki has been facing the brunt of aggressive messages from certain fans on Bubble. In fact, one fan even went as far as to share a message on an online community, advising Tsuki to only interact with Billie fans at events and at least greet them.

Tsuki directly addressed the individual and apologized, stating, “I apologize for causing you distress. I will make a greater effort in the future!”

A fan wrote, “I died because you didn’t ask if I was okay yesterday,”in another message.

In response, Tsuki questioned, “Why would you even think that? Please don’t give up.”She then expressed remorse, saying, “I apologize for not being able to be with you yesterday.”

Tsuki received an outpouring of sympathy from numerous netizens who were taken aback by the messages and questioned whether idols faced such messages regularly.

Several of the comments stated,

  • “Are they upset because Tsuki didn’t acknowledge them?”
  • “Do they call themselves fans?”
  • “Do idols receive dozens of such Bubble messages daily?”

Mystic Story has addressed the issue of malicious messages by revealing the nicknames of the offending individuals and implementing a new policy. As stated in their announcement, all messages from reported members will now be hidden from the artists.

The artists were informed that if they continued to make statements that caused psychological harm, they would face a permanent ban from all future fan events.

With the rise of personal communication platforms used by artists and fans in the K-pop industry, there has been a noticeable increase in the occurrence of harmful messages being directed towards idols.

On June 4, Ririka, a member of the group ILY:1, publicly spoke out against inappropriate messages from fans, stating, “There should be a limit to jokes,”and “Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of messages on Bubble that go too far. I am also a human being.”
