Despite being a Drudge, Maurice’s hands are as white as pure snow, which leads him to be suspected as a pathological liar. This suspicion is further reinforced by his tendency to resort to underhanded tactics, as seen in Black Butler season 4 episode 2 where he manipulates others into doing his work.

Despite being able to recognize the falsehood in Drudge’s statement, Ciel believes it would be more beneficial to seek out others who have also fallen victim to Cole’s deceitful tactics.
