In the fifth episode of Black Butler’s fourth season, Ciel Phantomhive instructs his trusted butler, Sebastian Michaelis, to search for missing students, one of whom is Derrick Arden. After a thorough investigation of the Violet House, Sebastian is unable to find any clues. Ciel then contemplates reaching out to the headmaster for assistance. Despite facing opposition from the Purple House Prefect, the Prefects and Drudges from other houses band together to help manage the situation.

Despite his doubts about his athletic abilities, Ciel is informed that he has been selected as the Most Valuable Player for the Weston College’s cricket tournament, where the headmaster will be in attendance. This news was thanks to Sebastian’s recommendation. Ciel sees this as an opportunity to not only meet the headmaster, but also to solve the mystery and secure an invitation by winning the tournament.
