Following a 3-month long break, Black Clover has returned with its latest chapters: 372 and 373. This break must have been difficult for fans, especially after the amazing chapter 371 where Mereoleona accomplished an almost impossible feat and solidified herself as a potential contender for the title of strongest wizard.
The current chapter primarily centers on the showdown between Noelle and her siblings against their mother, Acier Silva, who has been resurrected as a paladin. This fight has been ongoing for several chapters, and the situation seemed dire until Noelle intervened. Let’s discover the outcome of their battle in the most recent chapter.
Noelle’s Face Off Against Steel
Despite the ongoing and intense battle between Acier and Noelle, Noelle is constantly on the defensive, struggling to defend against Acier’s deadly and precise attacks. Whenever she does manage to launch a counterattack, it is quickly and effortlessly thwarted by the experienced warrior.
Acier, filled with exhilaration from the intense battle, decides to use her full strength and unveils her second magic attribute, water magic, as she charges towards her next attack. Noelle narrowly avoids the attack, barely escaping.
Solid and Nebra’s Dilemma
When Noelle first came to their aid when they were being overpowered by Acier, they were both surprised and grateful to learn that she had gained the power of the Sea Dragon God.
The feeling of relief they experienced quickly faded as they witnessed Noelle being overpowered by Acier during their battle. They were filled with self-hatred for only playing around with weaker opponents instead of actively working towards becoming stronger. Their arrogance and privileged position had blinded them, making them realize how pathetic it was to rely on their little sister to fight in their place.
As Noelle faced her mother, a formidable opponent, they witnessed her unwavering determination to not give up. This instilled in them a newfound determination to redeem themselves before it was too late. Right before Acier was about to deal a fatal blow to Noelle, Solid bravely stepped in to protect her.
Immediately following this, Nebra and Nozel are joined by Acier’s children as they combine their efforts to defeat her.
Mother vs The Children
As Acier prepared for another attack, Nozel pointed out to Noelle that she had developed a tendency to hold back her power whenever she used magic. He urged her to pour all of her Sea Dragon God magic into her next attack in order to improve their chances of victory.
After uttering these words, he utilized the power of Silver Guardian, a spell that morphed his physical form into silver, granting him the ultimate defense. He proceeded to buy time by engaging in combat with Acier while in this state. Meanwhile, Solid and Nebra assisted Noelle in casting her spell.
As Noelle prepared to unleash her attack, Nebra and Solid suffered significant damage from their reaction to her magic. However, they refused to let go and instead urged her to continue charging. This poignant moment caused the siblings to reflect on their past actions and recognize the immense pain they had caused their younger sister. They realized that her suffering was nothing compared to the guilt and remorse they were now feeling.
During the battle between Nozel and Acier, she reminded him that transforming into mercury would cause him great pain. In response, Nozel explained that enduring this pain was his way of redeeming himself and rebuilding his relationships with his siblings.
Upon receiving a sincere apology from them, Noelle gratefully accepted and proceeded to cast her spell, ultimately saving Nozel and defeating Acier. The chapter concludes with a smile on Acier’s face as she expresses her joy at seeing her children grown and united.
In many respects, this chapter marks a significant advancement in the story as Noelle’s fractured family has been a prominent issue since the start of the series. With the introduction of this chapter, we see another resolution to one of Noelle’s challenges.
Furthermore, it is important to acknowledge that Noelle’s character development has solidified her as one of the strongest and most dynamic characters in the series. Despite her initial struggles with controlling her magic, she eventually surpassed all expectations by defeating the formidable Acier Silva. In addition, she consistently approaches and resolves her obstacles with remarkable efficiency, placing her even above Yuno and Asta in terms of personal growth.
