Black Mirror Season 7 Announces First-Ever Sequel Episode in Series History

All aboard! Netflix has unveiled significant information about what to expect from Black Mirror Season 7 – including a highly anticipated sequel to one of its most iconic episodes.

The sixth season of Charlie Brooker’s dark and satirical series was quite intense, featuring themes such as snuff films, unsettling body-swapping escapades, a disturbing algorithm, and the literal apocalypse.

Black Mirror Season 7 is set to bring the binge-worthy series “back to basics” with a fresh lineup of haunting, dystopian narratives – and fans can look forward to its first-ever follow-up episode.

The new season, slated to premiere on Netflix in 2025, will feature a sequel to USS Callister, the acclaimed opening episode of Season 4 that concluded with a shocking twist: Daly’s (portrayed by Jesse Plemons) mind was obliterated, while Nanette (played by Cristin Milioti, who just debuted in The Penguin) launched into space for a new adventure.

In the last interaction, she faced off against Gamer691 (voiced by Aaron Paul), another player who threatened to “blast them to sh*t.” It’s reasonable to speculate they may eventually clash.

However, Brooker has kept many details under wraps. “Fans of the show will recognize the cast of a certain spaceship from one of our episodes reappearing,” he mentioned, as reported by Tudum.

“For the first time in Black Mirror history, we’ve created a sequel. Normally, I kill off all characters by the end of an episode, but I’ve kept some alive this time. I’m evolving as a creator.”

Alongside Milioti, this season will feature a star-studded cast, including Awkwafina, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Paul Giamatti, Rashida Jones, Billy Magnussen, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, and Harriet Walter, among others.

“Viewers can anticipate a combination of genres and styles. We’re presenting six episodes this time, with two being almost feature-length. Some episodes delve into deeply unsettling themes, while others are quite humorous, and some evoke strong emotions,” Brooker teased.

Black Mirror Season 7 currently lacks a specific release date. In the meantime, catch up on the latest about Stranger Things Season 5 and Wednesday Season 2, along with our analysis of other TV shows available for streaming this month.
