The highest-ranked games on Steam Deck for the month of August have been revealed, with Black Myth Wukong claiming the number one spot.
As August 2024 begins, Steam Deck owners eagerly anticipate the opportunity to discover the Top Played Steam Deck Games of the month.
Elden Ring has held the top spot on the most-played Steam Deck game list for the past two months. The recent release of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC solidified its lead over other games, but it has now been dethroned by Black Myth: Wukong.
In August 2024, Black Myth: Wukong has risen to become the top-played game on Steam Deck, surpassing not only Elden Ring, but also hugely popular titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3 and Balatro.
The Game science-developed RPG has gained a massive following with over 3 million players simultaneously playing on all platforms, and has even sold over 10 million units. Therefore, it is not surprising that a portion of this success has carried over to the Valve handheld.

The official list for this month was not shared once again by OnDeck, the official social media page for Steam Deck.
Thanks to the debut of the brand-new Steam Deck list in June, we are now able to monitor the most popular games being played on the Steam Deck in real time. The top played games for August also includes the highly-anticipated release of Black Myth: Wukong, which has already made a strong impression on Steam Deck players despite only being available since August 20.
Fields of Mistria has also made its debut on the list. Ranking at 14th place, this farming simulation RPG inspired by Stardew Valley has achieved a higher placement than both Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
Due to the immense success of Stardew Valley on the Deck, it comes as no surprise that Field of Mistria is gradually gaining recognition on the handheld.
Despite still being in early access, Fields of Mistria has already received a fully verified commendation from Valve. However, it may still take some time for it to surpass Stardew Valley on the list.
Following the release of its massive “Unholy Alliance”update, Cult of the Lamb has made an impressive climb of 25 spots and now holds the ninth place position, nestled between two popular titles, Grand Theft Auto V and Slay the Spire. This recent content update has likely enticed a multitude of previous Deck players to return to the game.
Despite a few new and returning titles, the top 20 list of games on the Steam Deck remains largely unchanged. Popular titles such as Grand Theft Auto V and Vampire Survivors continue to be among the most played games on the Steam Deck.
