Black Ops 6 Beta Reintroduces Infamous Weapon from Call of Duty

While the Black Ops 6 beta has been well-received, a particular gun combination is evoking memories of notorious light machine guns (LMGs) that became infamous during Black Ops 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The Call of Duty franchise has seen its share of overpowered weapons throughout the years. From MW2’s Model 1887s to dual Snakeshots in modern Warzone, each installment has its standout weapon that overshadows the rest.

Players who faced the Crossbar Hades in Black Ops 4 or the FiNN in Modern Warfare 2019 recall the days of being overwhelmed by a barrage of bullets without the need for precision aiming.

The primary advantage of this weapon was the crossbar, an attachment that eliminated the wait for aiming down sights (ADS) and allowed players to utilize a modified, accurate version of hipfire.

This feature combines the strengths of dual-wielded options with the capability to engage at greater distances, alongside a magazine that seemed limitless. The Crossbar Hades was a formidable force.

While the Hades is absent in Black Ops 6, the crossbar is making a comeback, potentially outperforming the competition. Although this new crossbar LMG may not be as overpowered as its Black Ops 4 predecessor, the compact size of most maps in Black Ops 6 means that even with slight accuracy drawbacks, it remains effective in close-quarter encounters.

Moreover, while Tac Stance is available with specific attachments on other guns, the crossbar’s readiness time rivals that of assault rifles (ARs) or submachine guns (SMGs) equipped with Tactical Lasers. Choosing the LMG is typically the best option, making the XMG a top-tier firearm.

In combination with Black Ops 6’s Omnimovement, this weapon proves to be devastating in skilled hands. Players will need to elevate the XMG to weapon level 43 to unlock the crossbar in the beta, but it promises to be worthwhile.

Whether the XMG will face nerfs following the beta remains uncertain, but it’s probable that the full release of Black Ops 6 will introduce more LMGs.

Will these LMGs dominate the game’s meta? It remains to be seen. For now, enjoy the return of the Black Ops 4 Hades while it lasts.
