Recent communications from the developers of Black Ops 6 regarding the ongoing challenge of cheating in Ranked Play have stirred significant skepticism within the gaming community. Notably, popular figure Nadeshot dismissed the update as “propaganda,”highlighting critical concerns about the effectiveness of anti-cheat measures.
The launch of Ranked Play in Black Ops 6 was met with mixed reactions from players. Although the initial gameplay appeared manageable, it soon became evident that a significant number of cheaters were infiltrating matches, particularly at the higher tiers.
This situation has led some players to declare it as possibly the most severe hacking crisis seen in a Call of Duty title, which is notably troubling considering the notorious history of cheating incidences in Warzone. The community has even suggested reverting to console-only settings for competitive play as a strategy to mitigate PC cheater presence.
Current State of Cheating in Black Ops 6
Developers have acknowledged the severity of the cheating problem. However, a recent update on November 25 did not resonate well with players, who were looking for more substantial action. The developers outlined their progress in combating cheaters, sharing highlights from their efforts:
📢 #BlackOps6 #RankedPlay #TeamRICOCHET with an update on the ongoing work to combat cheating in Ranked Play: • AI systems continue to ramp up with code optimizations to accelerate enforcements • Over 19,000 Ranked Play bans since the mode launched • Hourly sweeps to remove…

This announcement claimed that over 19,000 accounts had been banned in just five days since Ranked Play’s debut, accompanied by promises of “hourly sweeps” aimed at eradicating cheaters from the Ranked mode and its associated leaderboards.
With exclusive rewards available for top-ranking players, particularly the coveted items for the Top 250, the ongoing presence of cheaters has been a significant frustration within the competitive community.
Community Reactions to the Developer Update
In response to the developers’ claims, Nadeshot, a former Call of Duty champion and founder of 100 Thieves, reacted strongly on social media. He expressed disbelief over the reported number of bans after his own experiences with persistent cheaters:
Complete propaganda. 10 names minimum in the first 3 pages we’re legitimately spin botting LIVE on our streams. How could there possibly be 19K accounts banned when the most egregious abusers are giving us the middle finger on the leaderboard? Are we crazy? What is going on.

Other veteran players corroborated his frustrations. Nameless, another seasoned player, reported encountering numerous hackers in his matches, while others joked about the apparent inadequacy of the developers’ claims, implying that possibly over 100,000 accounts still remain unchecked.
As the Call of Duty community grapples with the reality of rampant cheating in Black Ops 6, it appears that significant challenges lie ahead for Activision. The ongoing prevalence of hackers poses a serious threat to the integrity of the Ranked Play experience, leaving players anxious for an effective and timely resolution.
