Black Ops 6 Community Claims Double XP Feature is Not Working Properly

Double XP Event Sparks Controversy in Black Ops 6

Currently, a Double XP event is underway in Black Ops 6. However, after engaging in several matches, many players believe that the experience points (XP) system may be malfunctioning.

Event Overview

Treyarch has organized another Double XP weekend to help players accelerate their Player and Weapon Level progression. This event commenced on November 27 alongside the return of the popular Stakeout 24/7 game mode. The anticipation was high, attracting numerous players back to the game. Nevertheless, concerns have emerged regarding the actual benefits of the XP boost.

Concerns About XP Earnings

Short after the event kicked off, players inundated forums with feedback indicating that their XP earnings were well below expectations. Many speculated that the base XP rate had been altered, significantly diminishing the effectiveness of the x2 multiplier.

“Double XP is not working; sure it’s lit up and at the end of a match it ‘doubles’ but they did something to the base XP because it’s amounting to [the same as] just regular XP,” remarked Reddit user TheRedOneX.

In a follow-up, the user described their experience: “Two days ago, I was earning between 8,000 to 20,000 XP with a Double XP token. However, during this event, after about 10 matches, my highest earning was only 9,000, with most games netting 4,000 to 5,000 XP despite the Double XP multiplier—it’s clearly broken.”

Community Reactions

They are not alone in their frustrations. Numerous players echoed similar sentiments in various forum posts, claiming that their XP rewards have decreased since the Double XP event started. One particularly irate player even labeled the event a “scam,”accompanied by a video demonstration of their claim.

Video Evidence of XP Discrepancy

In the video, the player finishes a match on the Skyline map with a score exceeding 12,000, which should theoretically translate to 24,000 XP due to the multiplier. However, they ended up receiving only around 21,500 XP, revealing a shortfall of over 2,500 points compared to expectations. You can watch the full video here:

Understanding XP Rates in Black Ops 6

While it’s important to note that game modes such as Face Off and Stakeout 24/7 generally award less XP compared to standard modes, this disparity does not sufficiently account for the lower XP yields noticed in larger maps.

Feedback suggests that the current XP awards during the Double XP event hover closer to x1.3 rather than the anticipated x2. Whether this discrepancy is a deliberate change or a simple glitch remains unclear.

Anticipating Improvements

With the gaming community eager to enhance their levels ahead of the upcoming Season 1 Reloaded, scheduled for December 5, players are hopeful that Treyarch will address these issues promptly.

For ongoing updates, stay tuned to official channels and community discussions to see how this Double XP event develops.
