Treyarch, the developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, have confirmed that the omnidirectional movement system will also be implemented in Warzone once the game is integrated after its release.
The latest omnimovement system featured in Black Ops 6 is a significant departure from previous iterations of Call of Duty. This new system, which is comparable to the introduction of jetpacks in Advanced Warfare in 2014, enables players to slide, sprint, and dive in any direction, as well as go prone on their back instead of just their front, among other new features.
In the Black Ops 6 gameplay reveal trailer, there was no mention of how the new mechanic would affect Warzone. However, Treyarch has confirmed in an interview with VentureBeat that movement will remain consistent across both titles.
“Yale Miller, the senior director of production at Treyarch, emphasized the importance of unity when asked about connecting the two games. As he stated multiple times, their goal is to only teach players a skill once, regardless of the game mode. This principle applies to all aspects, including movement, in both Zombies and Campaign modes.”

Miller made a clear statement that movement in Black Ops 6 would be unified across all game modes, similar to how it was in Modern Warfare II (2022) and Modern Warfare 3 (2023). This will ensure a consistent experience throughout all of Black Ops 6’s modes.
This is undoubtedly a significant move for Call of Duty, one that we believe could potentially bring about a much-needed “new era”for the franchise. The developers are surely counting on the new movement style being well-received by players, particularly in Warzone, where the community was vocal about their dissatisfaction with the slower movement introduced with the integration of MWII.
