Black Ops 6 Developers Confirm XP Buffs for Beta Weekend 2 — But There’s a Catch

The initial beta weekend for Black Ops 6 proved to be a triumph, as players were delighted to experience the game’s new features, including Omnimovement. Nevertheless, the rate of leveling was deemed too sluggish by the developers, who have decided to make adjustments to certain progression systems in order to improve the pace.

Currently, it is a time-consuming process to level up weapons in the Black Ops 6 beta. You could spend hours using just one gun and still not reach its maximum level. For example, the XM4 has a total of 46 levels that must be completed.

Although players can obtain some of the top attachments by level 20, those looking to unlock the higher-tier attachments will need to continue grinding at even higher levels. While the number may differ depending on the weapon, most primary weapons will require players to reach level 40 or higher in order to access all of their available attachments.

To increase the amount of attachments available to players, developer Lawrence Metten of Black Ops 6 has acknowledged that the rate at which weapons level up is slower than intended and has stated their intention to improve it.

Even though he specifically mentions weapon XP, the overall leveling process will remain unchanged. Since reaching level 19 is necessary for unlocking Perk Greed, players will still need to put in some effort during the beta to obtain top loadouts, even if weapon levels can be achieved at a faster pace.

It remains uncertain whether the developers intend to maintain the modified rate of weapon XP or if the base game will be more similar to the one implemented during beta weekend 1.

Fortunately, players looking to stick with one weapon will not have to constantly switch between guns in order to obtain new attachments, as was the case in previous CoD games. With the exception of optics, players can obtain all necessary attachments by consistently using their preferred weapon.

The second beta weekend will commence on September 6, 2024 and will be open to the general public without the need for a pre-order.
