Players of Black Ops 6 are demanding that developers eliminate a certain third-person emote exploit, arguing it “should never have been implemented” in the first place.
Since its debut on October 25, 2024, Black Ops 6 has made a significant impact on both the Call of Duty community and the broader gaming landscape.
According to Microsoft, the new installment celebrated the most successful launch in the series’ history while also setting a record for Game Pass subscriptions acquired in a single day.
With fresh movement mechanics, the highly anticipated round-based Zombies return, and a plethora of other features, Black Ops 6 is swiftly capturing the interest of long-time fans.
Nevertheless, the game is not without its setbacks. The inclusion of a third-person perspective has generated considerable discussion among players. Although Call of Duty has primarily been a first-person shooter, there has been a gradual shift towards incorporating more third-person elements.
In BO6, users can switch to this perspective while playing Zombies, and in Multiplayer, they can enter third-person mode when performing emotes. Unfortunately, this mechanic has been exploited multiple times to gain an unfair advantage by allowing players to spy on opponents from safe angles.
Utilizing emotes in Multiplayer can be a risky venture. Once activated, players become immobilized in the animation, leaving them vulnerable to enemies without any means of retaliating.

However, when executed timely, these third-person emotes can effectively serve as a cheat, enabling players to detect enemies who would typically go unnoticed.
On Reddit, members of the Black Ops 6 community are urging the developers to address this issue, with many expressing embarrassment over its presence in the game.
“This definitely shouldn’t exist,” commented one Redditor, while another insisted, “This is a significant issue; it absolutely needs to be patched.”
Furthermore, this is not the first instance of the Call of Duty community requesting the removal of this feature from their titles. Even during the Black Ops 6 beta phase, players voiced concerns about the inclusion of third-person emotes.

As another Reddit user pointed out, “It’s amusing that this problem was present in Cold War… AND THEY BROUGHT IT BACK.”
Only time will reveal if the developers will choose to eliminate this exploit. For now, it represents a clever tactic for ambushing enemies without compromising one’s own location.
