According to early leaks, players of Call of Duty will now be able to utilize their enemies as human shields in Black Ops 6, marking the first time this feature has been available in the game.
With the release of every new installment in the CoD series, we can expect to see fresh variations of the well-established FPS formula. As we anticipate the arrival of Black Ops 6 in 2024, Treyarch has already revealed some exciting changes they are implementing to shake up the gameplay.
Omnimovement remains the star attraction as it allows players to sprint and dive in every direction, maintaining momentum throughout each turn. However, recent leaks have provided a sneak peek at a groundbreaking addition to the multiplayer experience.
Although initially introduced during the Summer Game Fest Showcase in June, the multiplayer component of the game has now revealed the comical ‘meat shield’ mechanic in action. As numerous hours of multiplayer gameplay footage are released online before the Beta, all eyes are on this revolutionary feature.
So far, leaked footage of the upcoming #CallofDuty: Black Ops 6 has revealed:– Intro of a Human Meat Shield feature in multiplayer mode. Will this come to Warzone?– Confirmation of weapon inspect animations. Glad they aren’t going away.– 1st CoD to have a full 4-year… pic.twitter.com/IxHYsOaWET

Instead of just triggering a flashy animation, you can now take advantage of surprising an enemy by attacking first. Instead of pressing the melee button to execute your foe, you can grab hold of them.
Holding your enemy in one hand and a pistol in the other, you have the ability to move around briefly while using them as a human shield. The opposing team must carefully aim their shots to avoid hitting their own teammate. However, by tapping the execute button, you can swiftly end your target’s life at any moment.
Despite not winning everyone over at first glance, some are proposing an additional element to fully perfect this feature. Popular content creator Wildcat suggested, “Allow the user to communicate with the person they have grabbed when performing this action.”He also expressed willingness to pay exorbitant amounts for this addition.
“Just picture being able to convince that guy to betray his team,”another player added. “Hearing them beg for mercy would be absolutely exhilarating,”another one agreed.
As of now, it remains uncertain whether this mechanic will be present in all game modes in Black Ops 6, or only in certain playlists. It is also unknown if it will be allowed in competitive play. However, we can expect to learn more in the upcoming weeks, especially with the start of the Open Beta.
