The Jackal PDW has been a powerhouse in Black Ops 6 multiplayer, yet CoD content creator LunchTime encourages gamers to explore the potential of the C9 as a formidable alternative.
Until now, the Jackal PDW has maintained its position as the premier submachine gun (SMG) in the game. Despite this dominance, the developers chose not to nerf the Jackal PDW in Season 2, leaving the game’s meta unchanged. This has resulted in the weapon being the preferred choice among professional players, while casual lobbies are frequently populated with users wielding the Jackal PDW.
In the Ranked Play format, Treyarch has streamlined the competition by banning other SMGs like the KSV and PPsh-41, creating an optimal environment for the Jackal PDW to continue its reign. However, faced with the growing influence of pro players during Call of Duty League Major 1, the decision was made to restrict several key attachments that bolstered the Jackal PDW’s capabilities.
Unleashing the C9: Top Loadout for Black Ops 6
In a significant update on February 13, Ranked Play implemented a ban on all Jackal PDW barrels—except for the Gain-Twist Barrel—alongside restrictions on all muzzles and fire mods. This decisive move considerably alters the competitive landscape, as these banned attachments were crucial for minimizing recoil and enhancing the SMG’s effective damage range during medium-range confrontations, making it a rival to the AMES-85.
However, some players within the community are arguing that, in light of these changes, the C9 has emerged as a superior choice. Renowned among the top 250 players in Ranked Play, LunchTime has shared his recommended C9 loadout that maximizes its effectiveness.

- Barrel: Long Barrel
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
- Stock: Balanced Stock
- Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
This loadout particularly excels due to the Long Barrel, which enhances the C9’s damage range, and the Recoil Springs that stabilize horizontal and vertical recoil. Notably, these crucial attachments are not available for the Jackal PDW, giving players an edge with the C9.
This configuration is not limited to Ranked Play; casual multiplayer gamers will also benefit significantly from using this setup. While the Jackal PDW remains a viable choice, the C9 is increasingly being recognized as the superior option for SMG aficionados in competitive scenarios ahead.
