Black Ops 6 Players Discuss the Potential Dominance of the New Slide Mechanic in Multiplayer

A leak for Black Ops 6 revealed footage of a new slide, leading players to anticipate its popularity as a key mechanic in multiplayer.

Activision has promoted Omnimovement as a groundbreaking movement system that sets a new standard for the genre. Unlike previous installments, players are now able to sprint, slide, and shoot in any direction while diving.

Kenny, a player in the Call of Duty League, recently had the opportunity to play BO6 in advance and expressed his belief that the addition of omnimovement will be a game-changing feature. However, as a pro for OpTic Texas, he also expressed concern about the potential overpowered nature of being able to dive and shoot simultaneously.

ModernWarzone shared a video demonstrating the possibility of sliding in the same direction as your jump when landing. This generated excitement, as it confirmed the ability to shoot while boosting forward, as Kenny had predicted.

“One user argued that this would be the most fast-paced CoD in years and expressed excitement for it.”

Some experienced players noted that this maneuver can also be executed in Black Ops 3. However, the inclusion of omnimovement, which offers a 360 range of motion, gives players greater control over their movements when evading a gunfight or turning a corner.

In both Warzone and MW3, slide-cancelling is widely considered to be the most effective mobility technique as it enables players to maintain their maximum movement speed even after sliding. It is frequently utilized to out-maneuver opponents during gunfights and to cover distances at a faster pace.

The heightened slide velocity resulting from jumping in Black Ops 6 will alter players’ movement and could potentially diminish the significance of slide cancelling.

“Another player asserted, “This will be incredibly overpowered.”

We will have to wait until the beta starts on Aug. 30 to determine the true power of omnimovement. However, judging from the information leaked so far, it is certain that the sliding boost obtained from jumping will cause some controllers to malfunction.
