Black Ops 6 is ramping up the excitement with the latest Season 1 Reloaded update, which introduces a host of new content, including weapons, perks, and the festive CODMAS event. This mid-season update aims to elevate the gaming experience in what is turning out to be a vibrant Season 1, packed with a Battle Pass and numerous unlockable items.
Release Date for BO6 Season 1 Reloaded
The rollout of Black Ops 6 Season 1 Reloaded is anticipated for December, tentatively slated for Thursday, December 12. Although an official date is yet to be confirmed, previous mid-season updates typically occur approximately four weeks after a season begins.
Season 2 is poised for release on Tuesday, January 28, coinciding with the expiration of the current Battle Pass. Notably, the timeline for Season 1 has likely been extended to afford developers ample time to finalize the upcoming updates after their holiday hiatus.
While it’s uncertain whether the update will maintain its Wednesday release pattern like the past couple of years, the BO6 and Warzone Season 1 updates previously broke this trend, releasing on a Thursday instead. Regardless, players can expect Season 1 Reloaded to launch before the holiday season.
New Weaponry
- Maelstrom Shotgun
- AMR Mod 4 Sniper Rifle
- Cleaver (Melee Weapon)
The mid-season update introduces three new weapons, all of which will be unlockable through in-game events, although details of these events remain under wraps.
The Maelstrom shotgun is designed for close-quarters combat, boasting a fully automatic mode. Despite its lower damage per shot, its rapid fire rate compensates effectively, allowing players to swiftly dispatch opponents.
Additionally, the iconic Barrett. 50 Cal sniper rifle returns as the AMR Mod 4, delivering a powerful punch with the ability to achieve “one-shot kills” on torso and limb shots. It does come with the caveat of a slower fire rate and elevated recoil, making it most effective within a distance of 100 meters.
Lastly, the Cleaver, while not expected to shift the gameplay meta substantially, will provide an alternative for those favoring melee combat options.
New Playable Maps
- Treasury (6v6)
- Racket (2v2, 6v6)
- Nuketown Holiday (6v6)
Among the new maps, the classic Hacienda from Black Ops 4 makes a return, inviting players back to its picturesque vineyard setting. The Racket map offers a unique battleground set in an underground bank vault, facilitating close-quarters engagements.
As part of the holiday festivities, the beloved Nuketown map transforms into a winter wonderland, complete with snow, festive decorations, and seasonal themes. Additionally, developers hinted at exciting modifications to the original Nuketown map and other locations as part of this update.
New Perk & Wildcard
- Shrapnel Radar Perk
- High Roller Wildcard
The new Shrapnel Radar Perk, categorized under Recon, enables players to mark enemies hit by tactical and lethal equipment on their minimap. Furthermore, the High Roller Wildcard allows gamers to equip a fourth Scorestreak, adding a strategic layer to gameplay.
Return of the CODMAS Event
Call of Duty kicks off the festive season with the return of the CODMAS event, showcasing the Nuketown Holiday variant alongside limited-time modes and various in-game gifts leading up to the celebration.
A Zombies-centric event is also anticipated mid-season, likely coinciding with the launch of the much-awaited Citadelle des Morts map.
Updates for BO6 Zombies Mode
- Citadel of the Dead Map
- New Perk-a-Cola
- New Field Upgrade
- New Ammo Mod
- 18 New Augments
- 3 New Gobblegums
- New Wonder Weapons
- Introduction of a New Enemy Type
Details are expected to emerge regarding updates to the Zombies mode, with the largest content influx since the game’s launch. The Citadelle des Morts map, part of the forthcoming adventure, is based around a haunting medieval castle setting filled with bizarre horrors, alongside a surrounding village.
