Black Ops 6 Shotguns Feature Heat-Seeking Slugs for Guaranteed Accuracy

Recently, a significant glitch was uncovered in Black Ops 6, enabling shotguns to fire heat-seeking slugs that always hit their target as long as the enemy is within a specified range.

Utilizing shotguns with slug ammunition confers an additional effect, greatly enhancing their lethality beyond what was originally intended. When fired from the hip, these rounds automatically lock onto any opponent within a 12-meter distance.

This aspect makes the weapon extraordinarily powerful, as slugs from the Marine SP can eliminate foes with a single body shot and beyond. Furthermore, slugs have an oversized reticle, making it nearly impossible to miss, even when jumping or sliding—this is clearly illustrated in this video showcasing the bug. This combination solidifies slug shotguns as the ultimate close-quarters combat weapon in the game, without any competition.

Typically, slug rounds in Call of Duty possess a level of randomness that delivers deadly outcomes but with erratic consistency. Firing in the same spot multiple times doesn’t guarantee matching results due to the inherent spread of each shot.

Strangely enough, when firing at a wall while hip-firing, this randomness is apparent. However, when engaging with a player, any element of randomness dissolves, and shots will lock on and target enemies precisely.

To maximize the benefits of this glitch while it’s still available, here’s the optimal Marine SP loadout:

  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Stock: Combat Stock
  • Laser: Target Laser
  • Fire Mods: 12 Gauge Slug

While this bug isn’t as game-breaking as previous glitches, it does bear similarities to the Proteus from Infinite Warfare. Upon release, this sniper/shotgun hybrid featured perfect accuracy while hip-firing, resembling an aimbot.

In contrast, with the current bug, players still need to aim to some extent. However, positioning your reticle in the general direction of an enemy hardly qualifies as exact aiming. It’s simple enough for players of all experience levels to dominate utilizing this bug until a fix is implemented.

As awareness spreads throughout the gaming community, it’s only a matter of time before Treyarch addresses this issue. Until then, players are encouraged to jump into Face Off Moshpit, where smaller maps allow for unrestrained chaos and enable players to outgun everyone.
