Recent announcements indicate that to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, players must maintain an active internet connection across all modes, including the single-player campaign, which traditionally lacks any multiplayer features.
Historically, the campaigns in Call of Duty games provide a substantial and engaging experience that players often delve into before exploring the more popular aspects like Warzone and multiplayer.
This is particularly relevant for those who prefer to steer clear of the chaotic dynamics found in online multiplayer yet still desire the thrill of a Call of Duty title.
With the requirement of an internet connection for the campaign now confirmed, many players have expressed their confusion and disappointment.

According to an FAQ on the Black Ops 6 editions page, Activision explained the necessity for a stable online connection:
“To achieve top-notch graphics while minimizing the overall storage required on your device, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 employs texture streaming for all gameplay modes.
“Consequently, a continuous internet connection is mandatory for participation in any game mode, including the Campaign. Console players won’t need a premium subscription like Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus to access the Campaign.”
Black Ops 6 is expected to be among the longer campaigns in the Call of Duty franchise.
Moreover, numerous fans have already voiced their dissatisfaction regarding the absence of early access to the Black Ops 6 campaign, especially considering that Modern Warfare 3 offered early access to those who preordered.
This could be a strategic response following the backlash against Modern Warfare 3, which has been labeled the worst-reviewed COD game ever, with many criticisms focused primarily on its campaign.
Black Ops 6 is set to launch on October 25, with the Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies modes all available from day one.
