Black Ops 6 Squid Game Finisher: Why It’s Broken and Not Working as Intended

For players of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, a recent event inspired by the popular Netflix series Squid Game has become a topic of frustration due to a malfunctioning unlockable finisher. Enthusiasts hoping to utilize the new “Roped In”finishing move are encountering unexpected issues that detract from their gameplay experience.

With the highly anticipated release of Squid Game Season 2, Activision celebrated by introducing a themed event in Black Ops 6. This event is brimming with exciting elements, including new Operator skins, weapon blueprints, and the aforementioned finishing move.

Players have the opportunity to earn several items for free; however, an additional 10 items are confined to a premium Event Pass priced at $10—a cost that has stirred debate within the gaming community.

Bugged “Roped In”Finisher Fails to Perform

The “Roped In”finisher, part of the Squid Game themed premium pack, features a rather dramatic execution: one player strangles their opponent with a rotary phone cord. While all finishing moves in Black Ops 6 are designed to ensure immediate elimination of the targeted player, the “Roped In”move has proven to be unreliable.

Evidence of this flaw was shared by CharlieIntel on Twitter/X, showcasing gameplay where a player executed the finisher, only for the opponent to spring back up and continue fighting. This bizarre turn of events occurred twice in rapid succession, raising concerns among the player base.

Unsurprisingly, the gaming community has responded with skepticism to this glitch. Comments on the CharlieIntel post further underline the broader issues players face. One user, streamer SaltyySavage, expressed a sense of resignation, stating, “I mean, is anyone even surprised anymore that stuff doesn’t work after an update? The game is in a diabolical state.” This reflects compounded frustrations regarding various technical issues, including sound problems and rampant cheating within matches.

Moreover, the dissatisfaction doesn’t end with the finisher. The limited-time Zombies mode, titled Dead Light, Green Light, has been met with discontent as well, with players voicing their concerns over the mode’s limited duration of just 10 rounds.

The combination of these performance issues and the premium pricing model has left many players feeling disheartened about the Squid Game event and its overall impact on their gaming experience.
