Call of Duty is making significant changes before the release of Black Ops 6, including the implementation of a new omnimovement system, in order to shake things up.
Moreover, it has been officially announced by the developers that certain additions will also be introduced to Warzone, including the addition of a dedicated slot for melee weapons.
Additionally, the upcoming release of Black Ops 6 and Warzone will bring about the inclusion of a new melee slot. This will provide players with the ability to freely select melee weapons without having to give up their Secondary slot.
Using the Melee Weapon Slot in Black Ops 6 and Warzone
Melee weapons are getting a big overhaul in Black Ops 6 & Warzone.
In Black Ops 6 and Warzone, players now have the option to equip a melee weapon in their loadout, allowing them to choose from a variety of close-quarters weapons available in both titles.
In previous Call of Duty games, players had to choose between equipping a melee weapon in their Secondary slot or having a second gun for close combat.
As a result, players will once again have the ability to equip a Primary, Secondary, and Melee weapon in a single loadout.
How to use your melee weapon
Simply hold down the melee button during a match to access your melee weapon.
You can activate this button whenever you want, allowing you to easily utilize your dedicated melee weapon, just like your Primary and Secondary guns.
This new feature will be present in Black Ops 6 at launch and incorporated into Warzone once it is integrated with BO6 through the Season 1 update.
Black Ops 6 is set to launch on October 25, 2024, but players will have the opportunity to try it out during the limited open beta period from Friday, September 6 at 10 AM PT to Monday, September 9 at 10 AM PT.
