Black Ops 6 Zombies Citadelle des Morts Map: Overview of Setting, Story, and Leaked Wonder Weapon

A new Zombies map for Black Ops 6, titled Citadelle des Morts, which translates to “Citadel of the Dead,”is set to launch soon. While specific details remain scarce, players are already buzzing about its location and possible features.

The Zombies mode in Black Ops 6 has garnered a positive reception from the gaming community, with many players eagerly completing Easter eggs in the existing maps, Terminus and Liberty Falls. Treyarch is dedicated to enhancing the Zombies experience, and the announcement of this new map marks the beginning of new content.

Release Date for Citadel of the Dead

The anticipated release of Citadelle des Morts will be part of the Black Ops 6 Season 1 Reloaded update, anticipated to arrive in early December. While an official date has not yet been confirmed, historical patterns suggest it might be scheduled around December 12.

Setting of Citadel of the Dead

True to its name, Citadelle des Morts is set within a mysterious, abandoned castle located in Europe. This sprawling fortress is teeming with undead foes that players will need to confront.

Although more specific details about the map’s setting are still under wraps, it has been confirmed that it is situated in Avalon, a fictional area that also hosts multiplayer locales such as Skyline, and is linked to the anticipated Warzone BR map of the same title.

Storyline Overview

While the narratives of Liberty Falls and Terminus were largely independent, the developers have confirmed that Citadelle des Morts will follow the storyline established at the conclusion of the Terminus Easter egg. The map will feature the same ensemble of characters and continue addressing key plot points. It’s advisable for players to finish the Terminus quest prior to venturing into this new challenge.

In an announcement via social media, the developers stated: “Following the shocking conclusions of the Terminus Main Quest, Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey trace their steps to Europe and uncover an abandoned castle—a true ‘citadel of the dead.’”

Potential Wonder Weapon

The introduction of a new Zombies map typically means the arrival of a new Wonder Weapon, and leaks suggest that Citadelle des Morts may feature a sword instead of a traditional firearm. According to insider information from ‘alanthethird_90,’ this new weapon may be known as the Umberal Blade and could possess four distinct elemental variations, presumably unlockable through Pack-a-Punch.

While this remains unconfirmed, the idea of a melee-based Wonder Weapon offers a refreshing twist, diverging from the conventional pistol or rifle types such as the Ray Gun and Jet Gun.

Additionally, this same dataminer has unearthed references to the iconic Wonderwaffe DG2, which first debuted in the original Black Ops title. Notably, this weapon is depicted in the opening cinematic for Liberty Falls, suggesting its possible inclusion in gameplay.

Additional Features and Expectations

While detailed information about Citadelle des Morts is limited, Treyarch has confirmed a range of enhancements accompanying the map’s launch:

  • New Perk
  • Field Upgrade
  • Ammo Mod
  • 18 new Augments
  • 3 new GobbleGums
  • Hand Cannon support weapon

It’s essential to note that these features may not all be exclusive to the new map; they could be integrated throughout various phases of Season 1 in Black Ops 6, including a Zombies-themed event that has been confirmed for the latter half of the season.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding Citadelle des Morts in the official Black Ops 6 Season 1 Reloaded blog, which is expected to be published in December. We’ll refresh this page with new insights as they become available.

In the meantime, don’t miss out on potential side Easter eggs you might have overlooked in Liberty Falls and find out where the Pack-a-Punch machine is located on Terminus.
