The holiday season festivities in Black Ops 6 Zombies have ushered in the new Jingle Hells game mode, yet the reception from players following their visit to the revamped Liberty Falls has been far from enthusiastic. Many in the community have expressed frustration, suggesting that this mode may not meet expectations.
Recently, Zombies enthusiasts have had plenty to cheer about. The release of the Citadelle des Morts map and the engaging GobbleGum Mania event have generated excitement. Now, as part of the seasonal CODMAS festivities, the Jingle Bells limited-time mode (LTM) has made its debut.
This returning mode presents Liberty Falls with a festive twist, adorned with seasonal decorations and the ability to hurl Snowballs at zombies. However, it also introduces significant challenges by removing essential resources such as the Mystery Box, Crafting Tables, and Arsenal Machines.
Community Response: Discontent Over Jingle Hells Rewards
Since going live on December 18, the community’s first-hand experiences with Jingle Hells have left many players feeling disheartened. A prominent Reddit user, ‘JulianG-‘, criticized the mode for lacking substantial rewards despite its heightened difficulty.
This sentiment was echoed by many gamers, who lamented the absence of meaningful rewards for overcoming challenges without vital resources. One commenter remarked, “Thank goodness I’m not alone. This mode just sucks with only the new useless whimsical [GobbleGum] as a reward.” They expressed that the inclusion of weapon drops from presents and enhanced Pack-A-Punch tiers would have made the experience much more rewarding.
Many players have voiced concerns about the mode’s increased difficulty. The removal of scrap resources means that gamers are left with inadequate weapons, resorting to chance for any improvements through presents or wall buys.
Another player, ‘DukeOfTheDodos‘, elaborated that without compelling incentives to continue, they did not plan to return to this mode. Similarly, another player succinctly stated, “Just boring and pointless. Making something so f****ng hard doesn’t suddenly make it fun.”
Fortunately, as Jingle Hells is a limited-time mode and does not alter the core Easter egg mechanics, players have the option to skip it entirely. The developers designed this mode as an entertaining holiday challenge for Zombies fans, though it appears to have missed the mark for many.
