There are whispers that the beloved original characters from Call of Duty Zombies may make their comeback in Black Ops 6, and it appears we won’t have to wait much longer for this exciting development.
When Call of Duty: Zombies first captured the hearts of players in COD: World At War, gamers had a mere four maps to conquer: Nacht Der Untoten, Shi No Numa, Verruckt, and Der Riese. The objective was straightforward—survive as many rounds as possible, with Easter eggs primarily revolving around hidden songs.
The iconic squad consisting of Tank Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen has gone through significant adventures since those early days. Players have encountered countless Easter eggs, formidable bosses, and an array of new wonder weapons along the way.
Throughout the series, the original team has occasionally stepped aside for memorable characters introduced in modes like Mob of the Dead, Buried, and Tranzit. Although Black Ops 6 features fresh characters, many fans still crave to see the original narratives return.
Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming has provided some intriguing insights, indicating that players who participated in early testing of the Zombies mode have revealed that the classic crew will be appearing in a novel format, differing from their appearances in the Ultimis or Primis timelines.
The original Zombies crew has embarked on quite an adventure in the Call of Duty franchise.
Apart from reviving the classic characters, a new “Tranzit-inspired” map featuring a travel system designed to help players navigate is also in the works. This could potentially include elements such as the Tranzit bus, Der Riese teleporters, or even a cable car system.
Furthermore, reports suggest that several new maps will be introduced to Black Ops 6 throughout the year, with the initial plan indicating around six. However, there’s currently no update on whether this number may have increased or decreased following the initial tests.
The reinstatement of the original crew has sparked mixed reactions among the player community, particularly because their story seemed to have reached a satisfactory conclusion. Some players have expressed their concerns, stating, “Completely ruins the original story, wow. Amazing,” while another remarked, “Sounds really weird.”
