On May 6th, Rosé caused discussions when she shared updates on her personal channel about seeing Jennie in New York. According to reports, the two idols ran into each other while in the city for their overseas schedules.

In the publicly released photos, the pair could be seen walking arm in arm, with bright smiles on their faces and engaged in conversation, displaying a warm and friendly vibe. Furthermore, there were also snapshots of them sharing a meal at a restaurant.

The situation sparked controversy among netizens when a man, who seemed to be their security guard, was spotted walking behind the two with an umbrella while they were walking together.

Netizens shared their negative views on the matter, stating that individuals should bring their own umbrellas and that it may be excessive for personal activities. Some also commented on how comfortable the individuals seemed.

Despite the criticisms, there were still numerous fans who defended the security guards, arguing that “holding umbrellas is just part of their job,”and that it is necessary for their safety due to the nature of their profession.

At the end of last year, BLACKPINK’s group contract with YG Entertainment was successfully renewed. However, the individual contracts for Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa did not materialize. Rosé, on the other hand, has established her own separate label and is currently engaged in individual endeavors, alongside her fellow members.
