BLACKPINK Members Launch Solo Projects: Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé Shine While Jisoo Focuses on Acting Career

On October 2nd at midnight, Rosé announced her highly anticipated debut studio album by posting, “My first studio album ‘rosie’ will be released on December 6th.”

Excitedly, she shared, “I can’t believe I’m finally announcing the release of my first album.” Rosé continued, “Over the past year, I’ve been in and out of the studio, collaborating with new songwriters and producers, shaping the next chapter of my life.”

This announcement signifies Rosé’s return as a solo artist after three years and nine months, following the release of her single album “R” in March 2021. The news of her upcoming full-length project has excited fans, especially as it comes shortly after announcing her new contract with Atlantic Records.

Last year, BLACKPINK confirmed their group re-signing, but each member has since embarked on individual paths, engaging in both solo and group activities. This year, each member has initiated exciting solo projects.

Lisa started her solo journey in June with the release of the digital single “ROCKSTAR.” Subsequently, she collaborated with Rosalía on the track “New Woman” in August and is set to release a new single titled “Moonlit Floor,” making her the most prolific member of BLACKPINK regarding solo music releases.

Next in line for a solo release is Jennie, who is anticipated to unveil a new digital single, “Mantra.” After featuring on Zico’s single “SPOT!” back in April, Jennie is preparing to drop her own track over a year after her last solo outing.

In contrast, there have been no announcements regarding Jisoo’s solo releases. She debuted her first solo single album “ME” in March last year and is currently gearing up for her role in Coupang Play’s original series “Newtopia.” Furthermore, Jisoo is set to make a significant impression with her upcoming film “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint.”As her previous tracks “Flower” and “All Eyes On Me” have garnered positive responses, fans are keenly anticipating whether Jisoo will drop a new solo track prior to BLACKPINK’s group comeback.
