After the announcement of her signing with Teddy Park’s THEBLACKLABEL, BLACKPINK’s Rosé shared her reasoning for choosing to join the company with her fans, affectionately known as BLINKs.
On June 18, THEBLACKLABEL, a Korean entertainment agency led by Producer Teddy Park, officially announced that the global star will be joining their artist lineup. This confirmation confirms the initial rumors and means that Rosé will be joining artists such as BIGBANG Taeyang, Jeon Somi, Zion.T, Park Bo Gum, and others under the agency.
In addition, she will be maintaining her 10-year collaboration with Teddy, who has produced multiple chart-topping songs for BLACKPINK since their debut tracks, “Whistle”and “BOOMBAYAH,”in 2016.
The “Gone”singer took to her Instagram on June 19 to write a heartfelt letter to BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom), expressing her true emotions regarding the news.
She began by insinuating that she wasn’t ready to disclose the announcement before her upcoming music release, and then expressed her regret to fans who had been eagerly anticipating it for a while.
After discussing her current situation, Rosé briefly touched on the reason for her departure from YG Entertainment, emphasizing it.
“As you all know I have come from a place where more things have been done for me over doing things on my own. So naturally, I need time to learn, understand, doubt and trust myself and other countless times to be the most responsible person I can be for myself.”
After several months of learning to be independent, she still hinted at the reason why she ultimately chose THEBLACKLABEL.
The statement was made by the K-pop superstar:
“I am officially working with @/theblacklabel as my music management who will be managing my curriculum and helping me navigate towards achieving my dreams.”
Under her new nest, Rosé shared the thrilling news of her comeback as a solo artist, requesting her fans to patiently wait for a little while longer.
Despite having only signed a contract with YG for full group activities, the four members have already begun announcing their individual pursuits as solo artists.
On June 28, Lisa’s new single “ROCKSTAR”will be released under her self-run label LLOUD. Additionally, she will be making her acting debut by joining “White Lotus”Season 3, which will further her career as an actress.
Jennie is currently dedicating herself to her music career through her own label, Odd Atelier. Most recently, she collaborated with Zico on “SPOT!”, which has become a global sensation.
Finally, Jisoo, who is currently a solo artist with BLISSOO, hinted at her plans to expand her career as an actress in addition to her role as a singer.
Following the success of her debut drama “Snowdrop,”she is currently working on new projects such as the upcoming series “Influenza”and the live-action film adaptation of the Webtoon “Omniscient Reader.”
