On the 19th, Jennie, a member of BLACKPINK, shared a voice message via her agency’s official channel, referring to her fans as “Rubies” and encouraging them to “Please keep watching. Let’s meet soon.” This sparked speculation that “Rubies” might be Jennie’s official fandom name. The situation became more complicated when it was noted that singer Kwon Eunbi also uses “Ruby” as her official fandom name, leading to concerns about possible overlap.
In clarification, a representative from Jennie’s agency, OA Entertainment, told Xports News, “It was just a term used informally to address the fans on a news page sharing updates, not an official announcement for a fandom name,” stressing that “Rubies” is not Jennie’s formal fandom designation.
Furthermore, it was explained that Jennie’s full English name is “Jennie Ruby Jane,” and she casually used the term “Rubies” as a nod to her name. Notably, Jennie has trademarked “Jennie Ruby Jane” for her personal brand.
In other news, Jennie has entered into a partnership with Columbia Records, a major U.S. record label, and is set to make her solo comeback in October with the release of a new single.
