Jennie, the well-known member of the popular K-pop group BLACKPINK, has officially announced her participation in JTBC’s variety show My Name is Gabriel. She will be joining the show as the new Gabriel, starting from the 13th episode. Fans can look forward to seeing Jennie’s transformation on September 27th (Episode 13) and October 4th (Episode 14). With her global fame, there is much anticipation surrounding how she will adapt to living as a different person in a foreign land, where she is unknown.
According to the production team, Jennie will assume the role of “Maria,”a guesthouse owner in a quaint village near Rome, Italy. She will fully immerse herself in the role of a guesthouse owner born in 1996 for 72 hours, taking on responsibilities such as greeting guests, cooking meals, organizing banquets, and conducting cooking classes. This concept has fans eagerly anticipating Jennie’s display of new and distinct charms.
Jennie’s character poster has been released, drawing attention to her role as “Maria”in the upcoming film. The poster depicts Jennie as the owner of an Italian guesthouse, happily engaging with her peers and cooking. This has only increased the audience’s interest, as Jennie is not only a globally renowned star, but also a symbol of the MZ generation. Fans are eagerly anticipating how she will embody the character of Maria, a fellow guesthouse owner.
As Jennie joins the cast, all eight Gabriels, each with their own unique charm, have been introduced. The show, My Name is Gabriel, initially featured Park Bo-gum as the first Gabriel, followed by Park Myung-soo, Yum Hye-ran, Hong Jin-kyung, Ji Chang-wook, DEX, Gabi, and finally, Jennie, who will bring the show to a spectacular close. A group poster showcasing all eight Gabriels has also been unveiled, garnering much attention.
The show “My Name is Gabriel”is a reality observational variety series that follows individuals as they immerse themselves in the life of a stranger for 72 hours. The participants are given a new name and are placed in a location where they are unknown to anyone. In the 10th episode, which will air at 10:30 PM on the 6th, DEX and Gabi will assume the identities of two new Gabriels.
