In just four days since its release, Rosé’s latest single “APT,”featuring Bruno Mars, has made a remarkable impact worldwide. This charming and upbeat track has charmed an extensive global audience, particularly in the challenging U.S. market.
As of October 22, it was reported that “APT”had ascended to the 82nd position on Apple Music’s All-Genre chart, marking the highest position ever attained by a female solo K-pop artist on this platform.
Moreover, “APT”achieved significant success in the U.S. market by climbing four places on Spotify’s U.S. chart, racking up an impressive 1,579,405 streams. This accomplishment positions Rosé as the first female K-pop solo artist to top the U.S. Spotify chart, a notable feat previously only achieved by BTS and Jungkook.
In a remarkable turn of events, “APT”outperformed “Die With A Smile”by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars to capture the top spot on Spotify’s global Top 50, with over 11,580,358 streams reported by the morning of October 22. With this, Rosé etched her name in history as the first female K-pop solo act to achieve this milestone.
Additionally, Jennie’s “Mantra”and Lisa’s “Moonlit Floor”achieved 9th and 13th places, respectively, making this the first instance where three female solo K-pop artists have concurrently entered the top 15 on Spotify’s global chart, all hailing from BLACKPINK.
Previously, Rosé and Jennie shared the distinction of being the only female K-pop soloists to reach the number two position on Spotify’s global chart. However, just a day later, Rosé outperformed her fellow member.
This achievement is yet another highlight in the impressive list of milestones Rosé has reached with her latest comeback.
Upon its release on October 18, “APT”topped both the global and European iTunes song charts. It also led the iTunes charts in 51 different regions, including Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Chile, Estonia, France, Hong Kong (China), India, Indonesia, Macau (China), Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. In the U.S., the song debuted at number eight on the iTunes chart, making Rosé the first Asian female solo artist to make it into the top 10.
Furthermore, “APT”quickly secured the number one position on Melon’s Top 100 (South Korea) right after its release and has maintained that lead as of October 22. On various other Korean music platforms such as Flo, Genie, and Bugs, nothing has managed to surpass “APT.”
With these achievements, Rosé and Bruno have accomplished a Real-Time All-Kill (RAK), meaning they dominate every chart in Korea.
“APT”has also set the record for the most-streamed new song and established Rosé as the only newcomer in the top 10 on Spotify’s global chart, with over 6.85 million streams upon debut, achieving the third rank on the platform.
Additionally, she has claimed the title for the “biggest debut for a female K-pop solo artist on Spotify,”surpassing Lisa’s previous record with “New Woman.”
Online discussions have been filled with congratulatory messages for Rosé, with many netizens expressing that this recognition is well-deserved.
Fans took to the comment sections to say things like: “This is incredible,” “New records keep coming,” “Thrilled for her success,” “This song truly deserves accolades,” “Will continue to support her,” “Rosé’s talent shines through,” and “This is BLACKPINK’s finest solo track yet.”
