BLACKPINK’s Solo Domination Begins: Preparing for Individual Comebacks of Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé

After signing a full-group contract with YG Entertainment (YG) last year, BLACKPINK agreed to also pursue solo activities individually. As a result, Jennie established ‘ADOR Atelier’, Jisoo created ‘Bliwink’, and Lisa launched ‘Loud’, all focusing on their solo endeavors.

Amidst all of this, the members’ singing activities are becoming increasingly prominent. Most recently, Lisa has shared a BGM ‘teaser’ and music stickers on her official global short-form mobile video platform TikTok account, as well as announcing ‘COMING SOON’ on her official homepage. She has also revealed that fans can PRE-SAVE (pre-save) her new songs on Spotify and Apple Music.

In April, Lisa made the announcement that she had entered into a partnership with RCA Records, a branch of Sony Music in the United States. This collaboration will allow her to broaden her global presence. The addition of Lisa to RCA Records, which represents renowned artists such as A$AP Rocky, Doja Cat, and Justin Timberlake, has generated excitement among her fans worldwide and has heightened anticipation for her growth as a global pop sensation.

Lisa made history as the first female artist to sell approximately 750,000 copies in the first week of release with her track ‘Lalisa (Lalisa)’. Additionally, she also holds the record for the longest charting K-pop solo artist with her single ‘Money (Money)’, which landed on both the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart in the United States.

Jennie, the first to start her own record label, has recently announced her plans to release a solo album in various interviews. She shared, “I have been dedicating most of my time to my music lately. I am determined to share my music with a wider audience and have even bigger goals. I am confident that I will return with a stunning performance that will exceed your expectations.”

Jennie made history as the first member of BLACKPINK to debut solo. Her songs ‘SOLO’ and ‘You & Me’ were met with widespread acclaim. Despite this, there are high expectations and potential concerns surrounding her upcoming solo release, as it will be her first independent project since parting ways with YG.

In February, Rosé surprised fans by revealing a portion of her self-composed song, ‘Vampire Holly (working title)’, through her personal account. She expressed that she had been diligently working towards the goal of presenting a better version of herself to her fans. Even though she had initially planned to unveil the song when it was perfect, she decided to share it on her birthday as she had been relatively quiet lately.

The song known as ‘Vampire Holly (working title)’ has been in the works by Rosé since last year. While she only unveiled a brief 25-second snippet, her alluring vocals and dreamy ambiance captured the attention of many.

Additionally, Rosé launched her own announcement channel and announced her personal fandom name, indicating the start of her solo comeback.

In the meantime, Jisoo has shifted her focus to acting instead of singing since establishing her own label. She has recently announced her role in the upcoming film ‘Omniscient Reader’s Point of View’ and the Coupang Play drama ‘Influenza’.
