Fans of Marvel Rivals are buzzing with anticipation over the potential addition of Blade, the iconic vampire hunter, to the game. Following the recent update for Season 1, there’s a prevailing belief among the player community that Blade’s arrival might be imminent.
Marvel Rivals boasts a diverse roster of characters including well-known heroes like Captain America and lesser-known figures such as Jeff the Land Shark. With a rich history spanning over 80 years of Marvel storytelling, players have a towering wishlist of characters they hope to see make an appearance.
High on that wishlist is Blade, a character renowned for his compelling comic book narratives and memorable portrayals in films featuring Wesley Snipes, as well as in the 2022 title Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Thus, when it was revealed that Dracula would take center stage as the villain in Season 1, many fans expressed disappointment at the absence of Eric Brooks, also known as Blade.
However, hope is not lost. Dataminer Miller Ross recently uncovered information suggesting that while Blade is not a playable character during Season 1, his absence is a narrative device hinting at his forthcoming role. Following an early access preview for streamers and influencers, Ross discovered a gallery card and lore entry indicating that Dracula has intentionally incapacitated Blade as part of his strategy.
In his words: “In the lead up to Marvel Rivals Eternal Night Falls, Dracula subdues the two greatest threats to his Empire of Eternal Night—Blade and Ratatoskr. But the Fantastic Four won’t let New York fall to the undead without a fight, and they prove to be formidable foes in Blade’s absence.”

Speculations Surrounding Blade’s Arrival in Season 2
This narrative development offers insight into Blade’s absence in Season 1, prompting theories among players that his return has been strategically planned for the upcoming Season 2, post-Dracula’s defeat. Many fans are confident in this speculation.
One player remarked, “Blade will 100% be coming in Season 2. The Fantastic Four will save him at the end of the season or something,” while another noted, “I love that they basically give us a story reason for Blade’s absence in Season 1 so they can release him in Season 2 saying ‘the Fantastic Four freed him.’”
While this serves as the first in-game acknowledgment of Blade’s existence within the Marvel Rivals narrative, it isn’t the first sign of his potential inclusion. Prior to the game’s launch, he appeared on a leaked list of playable characters alongside notable names like Mister Fantastic and Sue Storm, who have since been confirmed.
Though no official announcements have been made yet, if these theories hold water, players can expect some news as Season 2 approaches, with a projected start date in April 2025.
