Part 1 recap

Bleach TYBW’ part 1 focused on introducing the Quincy army under Yhwach, who is considered the father of the Quincies. Likewise, Uryu Ishida appears to have gone over to their site, given his Quincy lineage. Promotional material for the second season has further suggested this, featuring audio of Ishida and protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki arguing with each other.

Ichigo’s original Zanpakuto also broke during his fight with Yhwach, but Ichigo eventually forged two Zanpakuto in its place. This was only achievable after learning about his origins, specifically via his mother Masaki Kurosaki who was a Quincy. He also learned that Zangetsu, the manifestation of his original Zanpakuto, was actually the image of a young Yhwach all along.

Current loose threads from the first part of the series include who Ichigo’s friends teamed up with in Hueco Mundo, as well as the statuses of Byakuya and Rukia Kuchiki. Fans are hoping to see these two Soul Reapers return early on in the upcoming second part of the series, as well as Ichigo to test out his two new Zanpakuto as soon as possible.

What to expect (speculative)

Likewise, fans can expect Bleach TYBW part 2 episode 1 to get the action started fairly quickly considering the first part ended on revealing Ichigo’s new swords. The Sternritter and Yhwach also seem to be ready for another attack on Soul Society, having failed in their first invasion due to Yhwach running out of time at Aizen’s interference.

With this in mind, fans can expect at least the setup of soon-to-come action in Bleach TYBW part 2 episode 1. Ichigo and Renji Abarai are the two most likely to star, since they just reforged their Zanpakuto with the help of Squad 0. Fans can also expect the aforementioned duo of Rukia and Byakuya to enter the fray shortly thereafter.
