On July 13, 2024, Aniplex debuted the character trailer for Rin Okumura in anticipation of the fourth season of Blue Exorcist. Having been a producer for the previous three seasons, Aniplex is expected to continue its role for the upcoming season, much to the delight of fans.
The anime is based on a manga series created by Kazue Katou. The initial season premiered in April 2011, with a second season following in January 2017, and the most recent season in January 2024. After season 2, the series switched animation studios from A-1 Pictures to Studio VOLN.
Blue Exorcist Season 4 Releases New Trailer
The focus of the character’s development was on Rin Okumura’s recollections with his adoptive father, Shiro Fujimoto, who was killed by Satan, Rin’s biological father. The trailer depicted Rin’s growth as he formed alliances and gained mastery over his abilities.
The trailer also featured a scene where Rin’s friends were discovered injured, forcing him to unleash his powers. The trailer concluded with the announcement of release dates for both cours of the upcoming season.
Blue Exorcist season 4 will be released in two parts, with the first part titled Beyond the Snow Saga set to premiere in October 2024. The second part, titled The Blue Night Saga, is scheduled to be released in January 2025. The opening theme song for the first part, RE RESCUE, will be performed by Japanese composer and singer Reol.
Kazue Katou is the female Japanese manga artist who wrote and illustrated the manga series that was adapted into the popular anime Blue Exorcist. Along with her other influential work, Time Killers, Blue Exorcist is considered her most notable work. Additionally, Katou is responsible for designing the characters in the original anime series Godzilla Singular Point.
The original voice actors will reprise their roles for Blue Exorcist season 4, with Nobuhiko Okamoto (known for his role as Himmel in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) returning as Rin Okumura and Jun Fukuyama (known for his role as Cid in Eminence in Shadow) returning as Yukio Okumura.

The anime revolves around Rin Okumura, a character who discovers his true identity as the son of Satan, the ruler of Gehenna, with the help of his foster father, Shirou Fujimoto. Tragically, Shirou is killed by Satan, compelling Rin to seek vengeance against his own father.
Due to this, he must become an exorcist and learn the art of exorcism. As a result, he enrolls in True Cross Academy alongside his brother, Yukio Okumura. However, as time passes, Rin’s demonic abilities begin to awaken, causing difficulties in maintaining his friendships. Will he successfully become an exorcist, or will his friends have to exorcise him?
