Upon the release of Blue Lock chapter 257, fans witnessed Yoichi Isagi’s response to Ryusei Shidou’s missile header goal with his signature two-gun direct volley shot. However, a closer examination of the goal reveals that this is not the first instance of Isagi’s impressive shot.
The previous chapter of the manga featured Hiori Yo successfully predicting Charles Chevalier’s thought process and preventing him from passing to Ryusei Shidou. Raichi Jingo and Hiori Yo then teamed up to create a scoring chance for Isagi from Bastard Munchen.
This article includes spoilers from the Blue Lock manga, so please proceed with caution.
Blue Lock Chapter 257: Isagi’s “Two-Gun”Shot Mirrors Nagi’s Juggling Shot Against Germany
Despite the challenge, Isagi managed to score the equalizing goal for Bastard Munchen against Paris X Gen in chapter 257 of Blue Lock. However, it was not a simple volley from Hiori Yo’s cross. To break through Paris X Gen’s defense, Isagi received assistance from Kunigami Rensuke, who drew Shidou away from the defensive line, enabling Isagi to position himself in front of the goal.
Rin Itoshi and Michael Kaiser both showed up to disrupt Isagi’s goal. While Rin aimed to prevent it, Kaiser intended to steal it. With opponents on both sides, Isagi would have been unable to shoot or control the ball if he couldn’t outsmart them.
Therefore, Isagi leveraged his ability to shoot accurately with both feet. Initially, he executed a feint shot with his left foot, causing Rin Itoshi to be deceived and attempt a tackle, which ultimately rendered him ineffective.
After that, Isagi quickly switched to his right foot and kicked the ball while it was still in the air. This tactic allowed him to evade Michael Kaiser and unleash a shot as powerful as a bullet from a gun.
Despite its incredible appearance, this goal was not entirely unique. A similar goal-scoring attempt was witnessed in Blue Lock chapter 179 during the Bastard Munchen and Manshine City match. Seishiro Nagi also made a similar attempt, with the difference being his focus on trapping the ball and starting from scratch.
After passing the ball to Agi with a lob, he received a strong header back from Agi. This type of pass is typically difficult to control, but Nagi’s exceptional trapping skill enabled him to stop it with precision.
After that, it appeared that he was about to use his left foot to shoot the ball. But just like Isagi, he swung his left foot over the ball and used his right foot to take the shot. Despite his effort, the goal was not scored as Yukimiya Kenyu used his head to block the shot successfully.
Isagi and Nagi’s shots were similar, with the only difference being that Nagi had to control the ball before taking his shot. Both players executed their shots off a header pass, but Kunigami’s pass was lofted while Agi’s was more powerful. As a result, Nagi had to juggle the ball before shooting, while Isagi was able to shoot directly without having to juggle.
