Following the successful debut of season one, the beloved manga and anime Blue Lock is set to make its highly anticipated return with season 2. The announcement of Blue Lock season 2, along with a movie spin-off, was made at AnimeJapan 2023. The official press release from Blue Lock PR stated that the anime is scheduled for release this year.

Updates on the Highly Anticipated Season 2 of Blue Lock

The official Blue Lock PR Twitter has officially announced that the highly anticipated Season 2 of Blue Lock will be premiering in October 2024. The announcement was accompanied by a special illustration from renowned manga artist Yusuke Nomura.

The unique illustration highlights Isagi, with Nagi and Reo, the main characters of the spin-off film Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, exiting the field. This signifies that the spotlight is once again on Isagi.

Studio 8-bit, the animation studio responsible for the first season, has also been chosen to adapt the second season of Blue Lock. Just like the first season, season 2 is anticipated to consist of 24 episodes.

New Visual of Season 2 Released

Along with the announcement of the release date for Blue Lock season 2, the key visual for the upcoming season was also unveiled.

The main focus of the key visual is on our protagonist, Isagi Yoichi, and the current number one Blue Lock striker, Itoshi Rin, both intently watching the ball.

Blue Lock Season 2 Expectations

Despite facing tough competition in the final selection of Blue Lock during season one, Isagi Yoichi is now one step closer to achieving his ultimate goal of becoming the top striker.

As the Blue Lock Team competes against the Japan U-20 team, the true objective and identity of the untouchable Itoshi Rin will become known. Additionally, Rin’s older brother, Itoshi Sae, will play a crucial role as the team’s top player.

As the loss of the match could lead to the permanent closure of the Blue Lock Project, the stakes are incredibly high. Isagi and his fellow Blue Lock players must give their all in order to emerge victorious against Japan’s top players and stay in the competition.

The manga ‘Blue Lock’ by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Kota Sannomiya is being adapted into an anime film titled ‘Blue Lock: Episode Nagi’, set to release on June 9, 2022. This film is a spinoff of the original Blue Lock manga.

The manga centers around the journey of Seishiro Nagi, a naturally gifted soccer player and a character in Blue Lock. It delves into his past before he became a member of Blue Lock.
