Blue Lock Season 2 English Dub Announced for October 2024 Release Date and Additional Details

On October 17, 2024, Crunchyroll announced exciting news for anime fans: the English dubbed version of Blue Lock season 2 will launch on Friday, October 18, 2024. The streaming giant also disclosed the cast and production team behind this season’s English dub, which is officially named BLUE LOCK vs. U-20 JAPAN. Viewers can expect a mix of familiar voices alongside newcomers in the cast, as per the latest updates.

Returning favorites in the English dub of Blue Lock season 2 include Ricco Fajardo as the main character, Yoichi Isagi, Derrick Snow reprising his role as Jinpachi Ego, and Bryson Baugus returning as Seishiro Nagi. This second season premiered in Japan on Saturday, October 5, 2024, and is being released weekly with English subtitles on Crunchyroll for international audiences.

Directed by Jonathan Rigg, the English dub for season 2 features Samantha Harek as the producer, with Clayton Browning handling script adaptation. The sound mixing team comprises William Dewell and Andrew Tipps, while Jameson Outlaw functions as the sound engineer. Most of the cast members returning for the second season also lent their voices to the recent -EPISODE NAGI- film, which premiered in Japan on April 19, 2024, before making its way to North American theaters on June 28, 2024. Crunchyroll has since confirmed that this film will be available on their platform in both the original Japanese audio and an English dubbed version, currently streaming as of this update.

Shintaro Inokawa leads season 2’s direction under the 8bit studio, with Yuji Haibara acting as the chief director. The series script is being crafted by Taku Kishimoto, while character designs are managed by Kenji Tanabe, who also serves as the chief animation director along with Sorato Shimizu and Tomoko Mori.

Having debuted in Japan in October 2022, the first season of Blue Lock spanned 24 episodes. This series is adapted from the original manga created by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, with illustrations by Yusuke Nomura. The manga has been a feature in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since August 2018 and boasts a total of 279 published chapters as of this writing.
