Blue Lock season 2 unveils opening theme song with a new PV

On July 24, 2024, the official unveiling of the opening theme song details for season 2 of Blue Lock anime took place. Along with the announcement, a new promotional video was released to give viewers a preview. The opening theme, titled “Boujaku no Charisma,”will be performed by Unison Square Garden.

The second season of the Blue Lock anime is scheduled to debut on Saturday, October 5, 2024. It will cover the Third Selection Arc and U-20 Arc from the manga series, and will consist of 14 episodes. In anticipation, promotional videos and character designs for the new season have been released.

Unison Square Garden to Perform Opening Theme for Blue Lock Season 2

On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, it was announced on the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of Blue Lock anime that Unison Square Garden will be performing the opening theme song for season 2 of the series.

The pop band will be making their third appearance performing for the anime, having previously created the opening theme song for the first cour and the ending theme song for the second cour.

The title of the opening theme song will be “Boujaku no Charisma.”

The promotional video provides fans with a 30-second sneak peek of the opening theme song. Furthermore, it offers glimpses into the upcoming story arcs of the anime, specifically the Third Selection Arc and U-20 Arc.

It is apparent from the excerpt that teams “A,””B,”and “C”will be formed. The top 6 out of the remaining 35 players in Blue Lock will be chosen to lead these teams in pairs. This leaves 29 players to decide who they will team up with to demonstrate their abilities. The most skilled players will then be selected for the starting eleven in the upcoming match against the U-20 Japanese National Team.

A different excerpt depicts a flashback interaction between siblings Rin Itoshi and Sae Itoshi. This particular scene was originally showcased in the manga during the U-20 Arc.

Tomoya Tabuchi, the bassist of Unison Square Garden, also commented on the opening theme song. He expressed that the pop band wanted to convey a message that is relevant in today’s diverse society, where “success and victory are not the only measures of success.”

Considering that they had already covered all necessary content in the previous opening theme song, they decided to take a more intimate approach and showcase a personal bird’s eye perspective. In doing so, Tomoya expressed his gratitude to their fans for their continuous support.
